Barca have a very bad defence,but are likely to score more than any team they draw.by the way it was the expert soccer guy from betfair who said Dortmund have improved in leaps and bounds,and the stats show it,its just that bayern hammered them in the league match.its wide open,and any of the 8 can win it,hope they dont fix the draw for a barca v madrid final.

How have Dortmund improved? They've lost 6 of their last 10 home games for a start.
A match for anyone on their day with everyone fit but they've struggled recently when Reus and Blasczykowski have been out. |

the betfair soccer rep said today,on timeform radio,that dortmund results this year have much improved since last year,and they have more points in their league than last year,he said that because munich are so good nobody seems to notice.he could be right.but i think Chelsea and Real Madrid can give Munich a good run for their money.Chelsea have the best defence,a point worth thinking about,nobody will want to draw them.

Were unbeaten in the champions league (won every home game) until losing the semi final 2nd leg away to Real. This year. W15 D3 L7 F56 A29 48pts Already lost in the CL to Napoli and at home to Arsenal and Zenit. They can actually finish with a higher points total than last year in the Bundesliga but they're losing a lot more games so it's highly debatable that they've actually improved. |

Dont shoot the messanger,its the betfair rep that said it,im only carrying the story.anyway,there are 3 spanish teams,2 german teams,2 english,and 1 french team.i would say the powers that be are already decided on the draw,they just have to make it look good on friday morning,getting the right people to make the draw and a wee piece of lead in the spanish balls,and a slight change of colour for the english balls,and sticking the two german balls to the bottom of the glass.they dont care about the french ball.it should be good viewing,unless they do it behind closed doors.

Ok,lets break the champion league form down a little.Now remember this is just my opinion.Bayern munich hammered Barcelona and the media said that German football was the strongest.but Pep Guardiola only broke down a system that Barca play that he designed himself.in other words he dismantled his own system.and all the bootmakers jumped on the bandwagan thinking that beyern are unstoppable,but it will be different should they have to play Chelsea or Real Madrid.Man united even though they are a bad team have fair results in europe,and after all it is a cup ,so its what happens on the night.with all the refs card happy it only takes one red card and a teams chances goes pear shaped.i think its wide open,and my view is that Paris,and atl madrid are the weak teams.

Indeed Yo. The French league is pretty poor but that shouldn't be held against PSG. Atletico are unbeaten in 3 against Barcelona and took four points off Real this season. Weak team my arse.

the thing about the so called weak teams (paris and ATL ) is that they will not be 1/1 to qualify if they draw United ,they will be 2/5.the betting is lob sided and when the draw is made it will be easier to get an idea.Remember Man city and Arsenal did not do too bad against Barca Bayern considering they both got a player sent off in the home games,so english football is not weak.Chelsea have to be very strong contenders.People may not like The Special one but he knows what is required to win it,and he has the players and the know how to do it.

My reason for saying all this is because i think an astute punter could or can find some good value in the champions league market as it is today.again i say its my own opinion but i think that Bayern munich are too short a price,and i think there is great value in Real Madrid and Chelsea,i also think Dortmund are over priced.There are a few back to lay teams if you know what i mean.

leroyb,you are correct,but if you think about it,Guardiola left Barca in june 2012 and went off to sail his boat round America,but by xmas 2012 he was agreeing to join Bayern,Heynckes left bayern in july 2013 and Guardiola took over officially ,but guardiola was the man who distroyed barca,he had developed the barca system right down to when a barca player got the ball they were to pass to a player in triangle form.Guardiola insisted they played this way.Beyern knew exactly what way Barca were going to play with the help of Guardiola(who had developed the system)the two games were a missmatch,and beyern won by 8 or 9 goals on agg.And then the media said German football is the best,but Barca would love to get another crack at the so called champions as they fell into Guardiolas trap.

I think people are getting carried away about how good Bayern Munich are. I think they are the most overrated team in Europe right now. Good side yes, unstoppable? Please. I think they would struggle to beat Chelsea for one. Just like Pep's old side, Bayern will be praying they don't draw Chelsea. The way Chelsea play will destroy Bayern's game.
The best draw for United would be PSG or Chelsea. PSG play in a weak league, United would be tough opposition for them. Dortmund are much better than most people think. They have had problems with injuries and have been out of sorts, but when they are on their game they could destroy anyone. And they seem to be gradually coming on to a game now at the right time. Good outsiders to with this competition imo. I see a lot of United fans wishing to draw them. Be careful what you wish for. Dortmund on top form could put 7 or 8 past United. |
