I don't agree with changing the double punishment at all.
If you remove it. It basically makes it a good idea to bring someone clean through on goal down every time if you are immune from a red card. You are encouraging cynical fouls which could injure players because you are encouraging huge lunges with the pure intent to bring someone down. If you miss the penalty you then haven't gained any advantage at all, which isn't fair when the team has given away a cynical foul. |
