I am going to give you some good advice here which I strongly advise you to consider. You have had 18 bets, mostly on odds on shots and are losing an average 23 Euros plus per bet. You are in danger of becoming a target for ridicule. Stop guessing/gambling!! |

A quick question if I may. Obviously without going into too much detail, what made you select the bets you advised out of all the matches played around the world today? Are they picks based on 'value' (i.e price sensitivity), specialist knowledge, statistical comparisons (etc)....? Thanks |

Meadow - I deffinately understand what you're saying and it's reasonable to give that advice. I know I can't prove this in any way (and I guess I don't really need to), but today was a horrible day for me in betting and I do normally generate a good profit every day. Please check back in some bets time and if we get to 30 and it hasn't improved, I will happily end the thread :)
Robd - My predictions on NBA are all based on experience. I watch NBA every day for around 5 hours. Football is more from statistics and knowledge of the teams. I don't care that much about value I just pick teams that I believe will win (I understand it sounds like that's what every punter does and fails at). Every day me and my friend take a look at the markets of the day. NBA I pick the markets that stand out to me. Football I pick my selections from stats and knowledge as I stated before :) |

Give the guy a chance to post his results. He has clearly said that if it gets to thirty bets with no sign of improvement, he will pack it in. He has posted all his bets clearly in advance, with a daily updated profit/loss. I wish him the best of luck but think he has the wrong betting stategy. |

That,to be frank, is nuts. Value is everything. Whether it's a premier league top quarter of the table at home or a conference level away side, you have to try and weigh up value. Everyone can work out what the "likely" result is. |

..well first of all value is subjective....
....what you or me or someone else considers value may be entirely different depending on many factors..... ....so how are actually going to define and measure it in order to know whether you actually have actually obtained it!!!!! I am sure many people perceive value simply to be a winning bet when they have....consciously or subconsciously.... taken the contrarian position!!! |

People that disagree with the concept of value are thick as pig ****. There is no getting away from it. These are people that think that it is possible in the long term to make a profit on things that are badly priced. There is only one world for this sort of person. Ignorant. Either that or thick as pig ****, but that's more than one word.
mugmerised is a classic example of a thick as pigshit oik, and also falls into this category. He laughed at my fred where I posted 100 x level £10 stakes bets - because my strike rate was around 40% for the bets I chose, and apprently a 40-45% strike rate is a joke. How can I only win 40% of the time? That's ****. What a crap better. But the average price of my bets was about 2/1. And I posted around £200 profit over those 100 bets. |

Value is subjective...and of course personal. There is no hard fast way to make consistent money gambling on football unless you are a skilled trader (with a massive bank) both leading up to a match or in running. |

Hi Money Chaser! Most of the wins haven't been from Betfair but from other bookmakers. They simply are bets that aren't available on Betfair. For the few wins that are on Betfair I will start to deduct commision though :)
