Strange aptmosphere at Goodison yesterday

I've been to every Palace away match this season bar villa and Hull and the atmosphere has been non existent. Maybe it's because we're seen as an irrelevance but if these people are spending £30 min to get in, I wonder why they don't find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon.  On my way to Arsenal now and expecting more of the same to be honest.

Football lost its atmosphere i think when the working class supporter stopped going,and we got all seater stadiums although we did lose the hooligans and someone pissing up the back of your leg.

As my mate says, Everton fans don't sing - we growl. I watched the game live on TV and I heard a fair bit of noise from Everton fans. Most of the singing/chanting comes from the Gwladys Street End, which is at the opposite end to where the away fans go.

Anyway, I don't want to go to a game where fans are just singing non-stop for 90 minutes.

I've been at loads of Everton v Villa games down the years and I've often heard your fans sing, "Empty seats, my Lord." So when there were x,xxx empty seats at the reverse fixture in October, me and the other Everton fans in our sold-out allocation sang, "Empty seats, my Lord".

I'll think about that taunt when I'm at Tottenham next Sunday. Having also been to Norwich, Cardiff, West Ham, Fulham, Manchester City, Villa (2-0, by the way), Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Arsenal, Stoke, West Brom and Stevenage this season.

2. Having been to about 400 games at Goodison in the last 30 years, I can say with some confidence that "most of the singing/chanting comes from the Gwladys Street End".

Villa only sold 1500 tickets yesterday and returned 1000 tickets to Everton 2 weeks before the game so the Upper Bullens (away section) was used by Everton fans
Contrast that with when Everton played at Villa park in October - Everton could have comfortably sold 5000+ tickets - in fact very rarely do our away tickets go on general sale

So poor was the Villa turnout yesterday that I only heard the Alan McInally song once !

Villas totally negative tactics would stifle any atmosphere at any ground.

What an absolute load of Bullshit, Villa did not send back 1,000 tickets, at least 100 hundred were standing in your wooden shack of a **** ground, we take away on average 4000 fans to every away game, although i will admit we have a lot of work to do with our songs.

A limited number of great seats for Everton's game against Aston Villa at Goodison Park have become available.

The Villans have opted not to take up their full allocation of tickets, meaning extra spots have become available for Blues fans in the Upper Bullens Road Stand for the 1 February fixture.

The seats now available are some of the best Goodison has to offer, so fans are urged to snap them up as soon as possible.

Every away side get offered the paddock, lower bullens and upper bullens - if sides don't sell out their full allocation then they can send back the upper bullens which then go on sale to Everton fans. The upper bullens was full of Everton fans - I sit next to the away fans so I know. Aston Villa will have taken 1500 - 1600 fans to Goodison

I agree the upper bullens was Everton fans, i was part of the famous hat throwing back brigade, if you were there you know what i'm on about, but we were never given the option of those seats we would have sold them easily.

For whatever reason Villa decided not to take those seats. got mine a fortnight before the game and they were one of the last few on sale.

you will have been offered them - every side gets offered them - even Fulham, who usually bring about 150 fans !

If you take them, you have to pay for them all so i'm guessing you weren't confident of selling them all - its the 1st time that I can remember that Villa haven't taken their full allocation - as you say Villa do normally take a good following everywhere which is why I was surprised

My mate and his lad sat in the upper away end which is offered to all away teams but only the big ones take it and fill it.
Villa didnt take it, they haven't done for years.
And they didnt even sell out the lower tier of the bullens road away end.
Stick with Facts, and the fact is villa are not a big club but should be given they play in the countrys 2nd biggest city.

We didn't have them last season either, i remember being spat on by the Everton fans.

I think we tick three out of four of them boxes, Everton on the other hand have a **** hole for a ground, some of my friends could barely see any of the pitch and they didn't even have restricted view tickets.

I agree we are a laughing stock at the moment but we thank god every day we are not Birmingham City.

I do though admire where Everton have gone especially living in Liverpools shadow for ever,we were on a par with them three years back, but lack of ambition from our Chairman has cost us dear.

"We have only sold out 1,800. Villa didnt take up the full allocation for some reason and when they applied for more tickets Everton said it was to late as they had already started selling to home fans".

In a nutshell - your club did not feel as though you would sell the full allocation and did not want to be lumbered with 1200 tickets that the club has paid for but could not shift.

I actually like Villa, similar club to Everton, good history and tradition - a proper club. Was very surprised with your following though, you usually sell out.

The atmosphere was quiet - mainly down to teaming rain, nervousness after getting hammered by the vermin, you scoring with your only shot and us being slow with our build up - added to that the players who get you off your seat Lukaku, Delefeou Barkley, Coleman not on the pitch !!

Atmosphere was much better in the second half - obviously.
