I've been to every Palace away match this season bar villa and Hull and the atmosphere has been non existent. Maybe it's because we're seen as an irrelevance but if these people are spending £30 min to get in, I wonder why they don't find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon. On my way to Arsenal now and expecting more of the same to be honest.

Football lost its atmosphere i think when the working class supporter stopped going, and we got all seater stadiums although we did lose the hooligans and someone pissing up the back of your leg.

We only sing when we're winning, you must of heard that.

That's true but we are valiantly holding back the tide at Palace, where the gents in the holmesdale stand are constantly an inch deep in pi ss. I dread to think what the away end is like!

its seater stadiums and average age being over 40
According to the Premier League's research, 13% of season-ticket holders are under 16 and the average age of an adult supporter is 41 – the core whose loyalty was nurtured when attending games was affordable to almost all. . http://www.theguardian.com/sport/david-conn-inside-sport-blog/2011/aug/16/premier-league-football-ticket-prices those kids will be children with parents not 15yr old lads on the tear. if you were standing and fancied abit of singing you would just move over to where the action was |

Certainly did mate, along with that stupid history song. "Empty seats, my Lord" ![]() And is that that "Yippee eye oh" (or whatever it is) song meant to be good? As my mate says, Everton fans don't sing - we growl. I watched the game live on TV and I heard a fair bit of noise from Everton fans. Most of the singing/chanting comes from the Gwladys Street End, which is at the opposite end to where the away fans go. Anyway, I don't want to go to a game where fans are just singing non-stop for 90 minutes. |

What you on about we sold out our allocation and sorry i don't listen to armchair supporters, all the noise came from the gladys street end?? and you could tell that on the telly could you? "Is this a library?" "Is this a library?"

we sold out our allocation
I've been at loads of Everton v Villa games down the years and I've often heard your fans sing, "Empty seats, my Lord." So when there were x,xxx empty seats at the reverse fixture in October, me and the other Everton fans in our sold-out allocation sang, "Empty seats, my Lord". sorry i don't listen to armchair supporters ![]() I'll think about that taunt when I'm at Tottenham next Sunday. Having also been to Norwich, Cardiff, West Ham, Fulham, Manchester City, Villa (2-0, by the way), Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Arsenal, Stoke, West Brom and Stevenage this season. all the noise came from the gladys street end?? and you could tell that on the telly could you? 1. I didn't say that. 2. Having been to about 400 games at Goodison in the last 30 years, I can say with some confidence that "most of the singing/chanting comes from the Gwladys Street End". "Is this a library?" "Is this a library?" Did youse sing that? Oh you wacky, crazy characters. I know you did sing, "Sign on, sign on, with a pen in your hand" inside the first few minutes. BIRMINGHAM - THE LAND OF FULL EMPLOYMENT ![]() |

Did they all have pens

What's wrong with these people? No noise whatsoever. They should have stayed home and watched songs of praise.
|
|
By:
Challenging for Europa maybe even champions league if they keep this up and no noise.Strange , maybe they want Moysie back

Villa only sold 1500 tickets yesterday and returned 1000 tickets to Everton 2 weeks before the game so the Upper Bullens (away section) was used by Everton fans Contrast that with when Everton played at Villa park in October - Everton could have comfortably sold 5000+ tickets - in fact very rarely do our away tickets go on general sale So poor was the Villa turnout yesterday that I only heard the Alan McInally song once ! |
|
By:
Villas totally negative tactics would stifle any atmosphere at any ground.
|
|
By:
toffee.
What an absolute load of Bullshit, Villa did not send back 1,000 tickets, at least 100 hundred were standing in your wooden shack of a **** ground, we take away on average 4000 fans to every away game, although i will admit we have a lot of work to do with our songs. |

A limited number of great seats for Everton's game against Aston Villa at Goodison Park have become available.
The Villans have opted not to take up their full allocation of tickets, meaning extra spots have become available for Blues fans in the Upper Bullens Road Stand for the 1 February fixture. The seats now available are some of the best Goodison has to offer, so fans are urged to snap them up as soon as possible. Unless our official website was lying of course ! Every away side get offered the paddock, lower bullens and upper bullens - if sides don't sell out their full allocation then they can send back the upper bullens which then go on sale to Everton fans. The upper bullens was full of Everton fans - I sit next to the away fans so I know. Aston Villa will have taken 1500 - 1600 fans to Goodison |
|
By:
I agree the upper bullens was Everton fans, i was part of the famous hat throwing back brigade, if you were there you know what i'm on about, but we were never given the option of those seats we would have sold them easily.
For whatever reason Villa decided not to take those seats. got mine a fortnight before the game and they were one of the last few on sale. |
|
By:
you will have been offered them - every side gets offered them - even Fulham, who usually bring about 150 fans !
If you take them, you have to pay for them all so i'm guessing you weren't confident of selling them all - its the 1st time that I can remember that Villa haven't taken their full allocation - as you say Villa do normally take a good following everywhere which is why I was surprised |

We didn't have them last season either, i remember being spat on by the Everton fans.
|
|
By:
Shut up dav. we easily sold out the bottom and somehow about 100 fans got in and were standing in the isles.
And how do you define a ""BIG"" club Dav? Ground size? Fan base? History? current results? I think we tick three out of four of them boxes, Everton on the other hand have a **** hole for a ground, some of my friends could barely see any of the pitch and they didn't even have restricted view tickets. |
|
By:
back 6 rows of the lower bullens you can hardly see the pitch.
Why do you think goodison hardly sells out? Because there is no point going to goodison if you have a restricted view; 10% of the ground is restricted view. and NO, 100 of your fans didnt mysteriously bunk in, your made that bit up like the other stuff |
|
By:
Lol, ok Dav, calm down, calm down keep taking the tablets.
And what other stuff did i make up? |
|
By:
And you have not answered my question?
What makes a big club? |

Villa fans are a laughing stock in the West Midlands, think they are manure.

compared to birmingham city?

Birmingham are a proper club with real fans, not the pipsqueaks who follow Villa
|
|
By:
agree, but their current predicament makes them into the laughing stock?
|
|
By:
I agree we are a laughing stock at the moment but we thank god every day we are not Birmingham City.
I do though admire where Everton have gone especially living in Liverpools shadow for ever,we were on a par with them three years back, but lack of ambition from our Chairman has cost us dear. |

I always remember the Crystal Palace chairman saying that Everton fans live in cloud cuckoo land and that they've got to realise that they havent been a top club for nearly 30 years
I thought he was spot on |

Always lived in Liverpools shadow, better ground, better players, better fans.
