However, I would say that IMO Betfair should have the grace to make contact with a customer before reversing a bet and removing funds from an account

Not going well so far! The customer service is pretty much nonexistent.

As Wisewords pointed out La Liga have this down as a hat trick, surely this means that the market should be settled as a hat trick score. Am I missing something?

Thanks Blockfire. Its actually about the principal as much as anything else. I want know how Betfair judge the result, if La Liga adjudge a hat trick scored then I believe that should be the result? I also believe some kind of contact should be made before reversing monies. We pay enough commission to warrant that.

Rocketman I'm in the same boat, got paid out & money then taken from account again last night. I can accept it if wrongly paid out but the official site has it as a hattrick.

I watched it live and TV instantly put Griezman as the goalscorer on the graphic but the spanish commentators said it will be given as an OG.

Looked a clear own goal to me on replays, dont know what the issue is, defender stops the ball going in and then heads it into his own goal? 2 separate pieces of play, as opposed to the usual "shots which are on target and take a deflection" and go in.
