I'll put it out there for those doubting my sincerity on the talent of Jack Wilshere.
Jack Wilshere has everything in his locker to be dining at the top table with all the other acclaimed Midfield maestro's of his generation, if you look at every aspect of his game, his development, his age and strong mentality what we have on our hands is the potential for a Xavi and Iniesta rolled into one player, with bids in the 60mil-80mil region to be expected from the likes of Barca and Madrid as he approaches mid twenties, a guaranteed star of the Brazil World Cup and those that doubt his ability should probably take up Curling as a spectator sport as you clearly know nothing about Football.
Has the game with the pass, pace, power, precision and panache, a Jack of all trades and a likely future Ballon d'or winner, we should all thank our lucky stars he's English.
So easy to pick a hyped player and say he won't develop, much harder to back someone to make it. So oh great one 1TP, kindly stick your balls on the line and tell the world which young kids you think will develop and become good players. And then we can check back in 14 months and see how clever you are.

I'm an arsenal fan and on twitter last season I put up the Wiltshire flat on his face count The which minute will jack first hit the deck. The jack knee clutch count..The jack ankle clutch count. The is jack blind( given ball clear route to goal but jack does a 360 heads for 4 opponents throws his self to the ground one arm aloft other demonstrating the perfect ankle clutch) after one game when jack was clutching for ages and everyone own players included ignored Then sheepishly he gets up even gooners in the ground were laughing at him when he rose.limped three strides then sprinted after the ball. Did get it wrong on the jack wheelchair has more children than goals tho. He's useless .and it's no surprise since he's back full time arsenal are falling

I agree that Wilshere has the potential to be one of Englands all time great players... But that's the future, who knows what will happen to him given his injury problems...
For now he's not that special and he's very inconsistent... Which Jack will turn up tonight? The one that can create a goal out of nothing or the Jack that spends half the game rolling around on the ground...

Stewart Robson has a chip on his shoulder larger than the shard, every time I hear him on radio he's having a go at Arsenal, I don't know why he's so bitter but he's one of these people a bit like David Pleat, Garth Crooks and Clarke Carlise who think their opinion is gospel and more important than yours.

You can't expect him to dominate when Bayern have an extra man in there after the sending off, first half he was on top of the midfield, but the extra man makes everyone run more, game was flipping ruined with the sending off

He's warming up for the World Cup where I expect him to peak in time to be the best play at the tournament, still feeling his way back form injury hence the going down to ground business, doesn't want to risk getting hurt by some clumbering no mark.

A lot of jealous resentful posters on this thread, like I said, the man down meant Bayern were allowed to overrun the midfield, it will be different at the Allianz Arena provided the Ref chooses not to be centre of attention again.

Was expecting him to cost us a goal with his ball dwelling but only cost us with that **** freekick which ended up with the ball in our net. Not his worst game

So that's it then deckchair cost us both goals. But was only face down on the pitch 3 x in the first 8 mins. So I suppose he's running in nicely for the wcup.

We are all biased towards our own team and particularly players we favour but mesmerised takes it to a new level with his admiration of Wilshere - pity it is completely unjustified - he isn't very good

I think we can safely assume that Paul Scholes is not a fan.
"Jack Wilshere, he came on the scene and what a top player he looked, but he’s never really gone on. He needs people like Vieira to take him to the next level. His development, he doesn’t look any better now than he did at 17.”

Yes, now we know why Paul Scholes kept his mouth shut for all the years as a player, nothing intelligent comes out when he opens it, walofs.
Ha he been living under a rock, he has been constantly set back by injuries, how can having a 6ft4in player help take him to the next level, it's a nonsensical statement to begin with, he needs to stay injury free, and the natural talent will do the talking.
Btt it's obvious what's going on here, Scholes, who was a genuine great, sees Wilshere as being a threat to his 'best English player of the last 20 yeas' throne, he looks at Jack and he sees himself, without the carrot topping, so he tries to discredit him, unlike the ginger midget though, Wilshere wont be ABANDONING his country aged 29 under Rudolphs command.

The day that he does not lie down in the opposing half claiming that he was fouled after losing possession will be the day that he is is a real footballer...
But Arsene must train his young boys to lie down.

the sad thing is that he will be in the england squad no matter what, how are england supposed to progress.
The bloke wouldnt get into many other epl teams.
He does does zilch, look energetic for 20mins, gets tired and falls over.

Well it clearly hasn't happened for Wilshere the way we hoped. Injuries, attitude, too much exposure at a young age...he will improve but unlikely to become the world class force we dreamed of.
Oh well, if you have 2 child prodigies, 1 of them fulfilling their promise (Ramsey) isn't so bad :)

Even by wheelchairs standards yday was a shocker. Usual running head first into defender throws himself to floor roll over arm aloft knee clutch grimace ankle clutch. Game still going on gunners playing with 10 men for 90 secs then gets up. Spends 5 mins fake limp( getting breath back) Wenger was heard shouting at him at least twice yday. Subbed then arsenal save the game. I'm a gooner and he's pants and most fans have had enough.

It has been obvious for years that he was the most over rated midfielder in the country. More interested in showing off his tattoos at the end of the match than scoring a goal.

Another thing that interests me. Has another club ever tried to buy him as I'm sure he would be offloaded.
Arsenal went through a phase of offering through-the-ranks players big contracts on little evidence. It was meant to stave off interest of other clubs, which it certainly did because no-one in their right minds would pay, for example, Bendtner £57k pw. Unfortunately it meant Arsenal ended up with a lot of ordinary players on big salaries that they could not shift, and those players have no intention of taking a pay cut for another club. Wilshere will be the same; there may be loan enquiries when everyone is fit and he can't get a game

When discussing the England midfield a few weeks before the world cup I said to a work colleague I wouldn't be surprised to see Wilshere playing for someone like West Brom or Sunderland in a few years time, I can't see him becoming an indispensable fixture in top level side.

Who is better: Wilshere or McCarthy? In keeping with a digital age in which everything is predetermined by an online poll, I propose a vote. Which midfielder would you rather have in your team. Arsenal's Jack Wilshere or Everton's James McCarthy? I offer this fully aware Arsenal fans will be incandescent with rage anyone has the audacity to compare the future of English football with the Republic of Ireland midfielder, but it is a worthwhile experiment to assess the honesty of the average supporter. Any Arsenal fans watching at Goodison on Saturday - or indeed any neutral not dazzled by hype or patriotic favouritism - would surely agree that based on the last 18 months it is McCarthy and Evertonians who should be insulted by the question. The difference between McCarthy and Wilshere is the Everton midfielder, well, does stuff. He reads the game expertly, makes tackles and interceptions, passes the ball to his team mates and covers so much ground his 'heat map' must be radioactive. Wilshere - or certainly the current version of him - does none of the above. True, he is a different type of player, selected for his creativity, but he does not score enough goals, has no turn of pace, creates nothing, often concedes possession cheaply and looks like he might be injured every time an opponent has the audacity to tackle him. If the pair were made available for transfer today, aside perhaps from Chelsea and Manchester City with their warehouses of midfielders, McCarthy would enhance every other team in the country. Arsenal, for example, would be much superior with McCarthy sitting deep in their midfield rather than Wilshere doing nothing much at all. If Wilshere was for sale, no-one else in the top four would be bidding. My guess is he'd be pursued by those clubs who become safe havens for those stars prematurely worshipped as a part of a new generation of English footballers until we all realised the illusion. Currently, Wilshere puts one in mind of Joe Cole. He might have peaked at 18 and seems to be dining out on the memory of what he was - what he once represented - rather than what he actually is. If he does not radically improve soon he might as well start measuring up for that West Ham or Aston Villa jersey. Chris Bascombe

A very fair assessment by mightymoyes - the latent potential of Wilshere has never been fulfilled & you have to doubt it will ever happen now - a gradual decline which started sometime ago will eventually result in a transfer to a team with aspirations no greater than survival

the sad thing about that article and what it fails to say is this, wiltshire would love to reach the level of performance that cole actualy reached on occasions for west ham and chelski, thats how overated the london journo,s have made wiltshire, after 5 years they,ll still trot out an england friendly against brazil , he hasnt even come close to reaching the heights of an average epl player

I saw wilshire when he was on loan at Bolton, few seasons ago at sunderland, thought he was tremendous player , best player on pith, even though s/land won 4-0. just don't think through reasons unbeknown to me he has developed as a player. everytime i see him seems to regress and if I was wenger would cash in. hodgson might do him a favour and drop him from england squad too, especially if hodgson takes an unusual step and selects on a meritocratic system.

i must have been offworld at the time and as a result have no idea what is going on - have Jack & Joan declared for each other or something? Football enormously backward in terms of gay rights so to credit to both if so.

Two sublime goals when it mattered and Man of the match in an international to add to his MOTM awards v Barca, Brazil and Man City - big game players, turns up when it matters.
Would have been the star of Brazil if RoyHodgersaurus hadn't had such poor tactics in playing 442 v Italy and Uruguay, it's 451 on the big stage esp when Pirlo is playing.
