I'll put it out there for those doubting my sincerity on the talent of Jack Wilshere.

Jack Wilshere  has everything in his locker to be dining at the top table with all the other acclaimed Midfield maestro's of his generation, if you look at every aspect of his game, his development, his age and strong mentality what we have on our  hands is the potential for a Xavi and Iniesta rolled into one player, with bids in the 60mil-80mil region to be expected from the likes of Barca and Madrid as he approaches mid twenties, a guaranteed star of the Brazil World Cup and those that doubt his ability should probably take up Curling as a spectator sport as you clearly know nothing about Football.

Has the game with the pass, pace, power, precision and panache, a Jack of all trades and a likely future Ballon d'or winner, we should all thank our lucky stars he's English.

So easy to pick a hyped player and say he won't develop, much harder to back someone to make it. So oh great one 1TP, kindly stick your balls on the line and tell the world which young kids you think will develop and become good players. And then we can check back in 14 months and see how clever you are.

I'm an arsenal fan and on twitter last season I put up the Wiltshire flat on his face count   The which minute will jack first hit the deck. The jack knee clutch count..The jack ankle clutch count.
The is jack blind( given ball clear route to goal but jack does a 360 heads for 4 opponents throws his self to the ground one arm aloft other demonstrating the perfect ankle clutch)   after one game when jack was clutching for ages and everyone own players included ignored   Then sheepishly he gets up even gooners in the ground were laughing at him when he rose.limped three strides then sprinted after the ball.
Did get it wrong on the jack wheelchair has more children than goals tho.
He's useless .and it's no surprise since he's back full time arsenal are falling

I think we can safely assume that Paul Scholes is not a fan.

Report mesmerised March 26, 2014 1:20 PM GMT
Yes, now we know why Paul Scholes kept his mouth shut for all the years as a player, nothing intelligent comes out when he opens it, walofs.

Ha he been living under a rock, he has been constantly set back by injuries, how can having a 6ft4in player help take him to the next level, it's a nonsensical statement to begin with, he needs to stay injury free, and the natural talent will do the talking.

Btt it's obvious what's going on here, Scholes, who was a genuine great, sees Wilshere as being a threat to his 'best English player of the last 20 yeas' throne, he looks at Jack and he sees himself, without the carrot topping, so he tries to discredit him, unlike the ginger midget though, Wilshere wont be ABANDONING his country aged 29 under Rudolphs command.

Arsenal went through a phase of offering through-the-ranks players big contracts on little evidence.  It was meant to stave off interest of other clubs, which it certainly did because no-one in their right minds would pay, for example, Bendtner £57k pw.  Unfortunately it meant Arsenal ended up with a lot of ordinary players on big salaries that they could not shift, and those players have no intention of taking a pay cut for another club.  Wilshere will be the same; there may be loan enquiries when everyone is fit and he can't get a game

Who is better: Wilshere or McCarthy?
In keeping with a digital age in which everything is predetermined by an online poll, I propose a vote.
Which midfielder would you rather have in your team. Arsenal's Jack Wilshere or Everton's James McCarthy?
I offer this fully aware Arsenal fans will be incandescent with rage anyone has the audacity to compare the future of English football with the Republic of Ireland midfielder, but it is a worthwhile experiment to assess the honesty of the average supporter. Any Arsenal fans watching at Goodison on Saturday - or indeed any neutral not dazzled by hype or patriotic favouritism - would surely agree that based on the last 18 months it is McCarthy and Evertonians who should be insulted by the question.
The difference between McCarthy and Wilshere is the Everton midfielder, well, does stuff. He reads the game expertly, makes tackles and interceptions, passes the ball to his team mates and covers so much ground his 'heat map' must be radioactive.
Wilshere - or certainly the current version of him - does none of the above. True, he is a different type of player, selected for his creativity, but he does not score enough goals, has no turn of pace, creates nothing, often concedes possession cheaply and looks like he might be injured every time an opponent has the audacity to tackle him.
If the pair were made available for transfer today, aside perhaps from Chelsea and Manchester City with their warehouses of midfielders, McCarthy would enhance every other team in the country. Arsenal, for example, would be much superior with McCarthy sitting deep in their midfield rather than Wilshere doing nothing much at all.
If Wilshere was for sale, no-one else in the top four would be bidding. My guess is he'd be pursued by those clubs who become safe havens for those stars prematurely worshipped as a part of a new generation of English footballers until we all realised the illusion.
Currently, Wilshere puts one in mind of Joe Cole. He might have peaked at 18 and seems to be dining out on the memory of what he was - what he once represented - rather than what he actually is. If he does not radically improve soon he might as well start measuring up for that West Ham or Aston Villa jersey. Chris Bascombe
