Said a similar thing to my mate a couple of weeks ago. He has no sparkle in his eyes anymore at press conferences, & looks bored out of his skull.

José has always loved playing to the press, they love him and he loves their sycophantic man love. But it's plain to see he ain't very happy being in the Chelsea dugout. |

"Manchester United didn't want him"
How's that working out for United so far? |

Hair receding faster than count berbatovs.
Piling on the kilos.Looks bloated and fed up As said bags under tired eyes not no special one now. His press meetings are now so contrived its quite embarrassing. Lucky to ever manage a top team again. |

Real Madrid>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Chelsea
That step down is enough to depress anyone. |
|
By:
Hamsterdam is spot on.
It is a massive step down and must have an emotional impact, because regardless of the turmoil he experienced in his last year at Madrid, Chelsea is not one of Europe's elite like a Madrid, Barca or Bayern. Everything would feel small coming back to a club like Chelsea. And it will hurt his ego that the man he hates being compared to is flying high at a genuine giant club (Bayern). In fact, those two drawing each other in the Champions league and Chelsea getting thumped would be dugout gold dust. |

José Mourinho - like a dog returning to its vomit ZingZangZong ZingZangZong 16 Dec 13 08:46 Joined: 02 Jul 12 | Topic/replies: 413 | Blogger: ZingZangZong's blog Mourinho has burnt his bridges in Spain, Manchester United didn't want him, he has run out of top clubs to manage and is now having sloppy seconds with Roman. With his cropped hair and bags under his eyes José Mourinho looks anything but The Happy One. He looks disinterested and troubled. He looks out of love with the game. The early season bravardo has gone. The photographers no longer crowd around his dugout. Like a 12 week old balloon he looks deflated and rather sad. How long before he quits? Funniest post for a while. I've never seen him so annoyed when constantly asked about Lukaku. |
|
By:
The Lukaku decision is definitely one of the worst in recent times. Amazed he doesn't get more stick for it. Imagine the abuse if Rafa was still there and had made the call to loan him out.

"Manchester United didn't want him" How's that working out for United so far? Manchester United know the value of a long term approach. Moyes was at Everton for about 10 years, Jose has usually skipped the country in under 3. |

"Manchester United know the value of a long term approach"
A popular misconception because of one man. Before him United had won fck all since the 60s and were even relegated. The long term approach got them nowhere before him and there's no guarantees it will after. |
|
By:
Benitez had Chelsea playing much better towards the end of last season than they are currently. He helped win them a major european trophy but youd think they had finished fourth from bottom from what the fans say about him.

Matt Busby. |

Yes, like i said "before him United had won fck all since the 60s"

"before him United had won fck all since their last long term manager."
Fixed that for you. |

In an occupation where 2-3 seasons are considered long term, let's conveniently ignore the 3 managers after him who all managed over 200 games each
|
|
By:
The success isn't simply in appointing a manager and making it a long term appointment it's in appointing 2 greats such as Busby and Ferguson. Moyes is as close to them as you are to someone half clever. Mourinho is at least in the same ball park regarding quality and ability and would have been a much better solution, both short term and long term.

If you two are a double act you are not a very good one.
Biscuit1979 In an occupation where 2-3 seasons are considered long term, let's conveniently ignore the 3 managers after him who all managed over 200 games each In business 5 years is medium term. ours4keeps The success isn't simply in appointing a manager and making it a long term appointment it's in appointing 2 greats such as Busby and Ferguson. Jose had his chance at a big club and they booted him out. |

Real always boot their managers out. It's what they do. Jose managed to beat "the best club the world has ever seen" and win the league. If you judged managers by them lasting the course at Real you'd simply have a long list of failures including Pellegrini, Del Bosque, Hiddink, Heynckes and Capello. I suppose they're all garbage too.
|
|
By:
Certainly his body language is not that of someone hungry to win. Not impressed with him or Chelsea since his return but we'll see. He needs a top striker in January
|
|
By:
Real may change their managers fairly often but can you remember a manager who was as disliked as Jose at Madrid?
The whole of Spain was glad to see him go. |
|
By:
But he does that everywhere, generates an us v them mentality, moans at other teams, the officials and the press - often because he's upset but equally often because he's playing the game and it's a means to an end.
If there were any problems with the squad it was because he dropped Casillas, an institution both at club and country level. It was a big, controversial decision but given he still can't force his way back into the team you can't say he made a mistake. Given the level of adulation he gained at Porto, Chelsea and Inter I'd say he's probably done a lot more right than wrong in his career and at good clubs (huge in Inter's case). |
|
By:
Remember the finger in the eye of Vilanova? Remember all the red cards against Barca?
Jose had his chance at a big club and he blew it spectacularly. |
|
By:
Jose was disliked in Spain because of his nationality. Ronaldo took 4 years scoring more than one goal per match to be unanimously accepted.
