most fans knew he had talent but he was often looking a 'frightened rabbit' and his confidence was very low. this was obviously a concern as to whether his full talent could be nurtured.

this season he has really stepped up and anyone that's watched us consistently would be very harsh saying he's had another one or 2 decent performances, he's had many more than that.

it's not always black and white and human nature for fans to perhaps over react on their opinions of players, i don't know many who thought he didn't have the ability thought the price tag did look risky.

Not sure it's fickle he simply wasn't playing well he never lacked effort but that's the minimum requirement he simply wasn't effecting games

Often looking for the easiest and quickest option to get rid of the ball and that's not good enough he's obviously a confidence based player and now he has that he's beginning to look capable of much more

You could probably make a case for him actually being in the team never mind the squad. The fact that he will have spent an entire club season playing alongside Gerrard (England captain) and Sturridge can't do him any harm.

One of best things about this season has been the form of both Henderson and Ramsey.  Not only have they shown how good they are but the character to come back after the dogs abuse and ridicule they took must take some doing.  Henderson fully deserves to go to Brazil in my opinion.

probably more likely to go to Brazil than Ross Barkley the way things are going at the moment - I think Ross would benefit from a summer at home to be honest - only injury will stop Henderson from my bet obliging

I'm tempted to go in heavily on Sterling (6/4) and Oxlade-Chamberlain (5/4) as well, as Townsend seems to have gone off the boil at the moment obviously not helped by injury and with Walcott being ruled out - its a shame they don't offer prices on "not to go"

Henderson needs to played in the right way if he's going to have any impact. I'm not sure the slow tempo of international games will suit his style. He's at his best when the team is playing with a high intensity & he's allowed the freedom to not only break up the opposition play, but to support the forwards in attacking positions. Brendan Rodgers is building a side that doesn't pay too much respect to the opposition, & Jordan Henderson is becoming a key player in his vision. I seriously doubt Hodgson will embrace a similar philosophy, & will no doubt stick to tried & trusted methods, using the same old usual suspects & getting the same old usual results.

If I recall Phil Jones joined Man U at the same time as Jordan Henderson joined Liverpool and the discussion at the time was who had made the best deal. At first Man U looked like they had done the best deal but as things stand Henderson looks like a snip as Jones struggles to impress in a below par Man U team

I have heard it all now. A snip at 16-20 million. They guy has a stirke rate of 1 goal in 10 and is p!sh average. BTW Crystal, i am not a United fan but Phil Jones will turn out to be the superior player. If Henderson is the one to take the lead after Gerard is gone i pity Liverpool

What a clown, because i don't love Jordan i never played football.

As you know me so well tell me about what level i played. Kid i know more about football than you could even comprehend. Henderson is an average player and will always be that, nothing more nothing less. Anyway no use getting into an arguement with Liverpool fans as ye are the most blinkered shower you could meet.

liverpool fans are always deluded when they rate any of their players.

if you go back to when suarez was first playing he was average and wouldn't get into the top 4 rivals

sturridge ws a duff signing and wouldn't get into any of those teams either

henderson and sterling are useless etc etc

henderson is much improved this season, how good can he be well technically the lad has a lot of skill, he has a great engine and seems to have a growing confidence and maturity. he could be a very good player, time will tell.

Suarez was a top player when he signed from Ajax, he has just got better. I think Gerrard brings the best with off the shoulder strikers, guys who are cute and are just class players. He did that with Torres also. Sturridge was always talented, he just needed a run of games. Sterling has blistering pace and that is one of the hardest things to defend, lets be honest Walcott would be working in Tesco if he was slow. I think Sterling could be very good, he is shocking light mind.

If Gerrard had the legs of 5 years ago and experience of that position he's gaining now then it would be much better.

Some patronising comments about the lad on this thread. Jordan has improved this season and gives his all. He may not be top international class but he hasnt got that much competition from other England midfield players either. Sadly, we cant play spaniards, italians or other nationalities from the premier league so perhaps we have to make do and see what we can get out of playing englishmen instead of moaning ? I actually believe Hodgson may take us further than is expected of him in Brazil but I doubt winning is on the agenda for England,maybe losing semis.
