Betting giants Coral suffered the embarrassment of their £1million football pools market — predicting 15 matches — being won by professional gambler Bernard Marantelli, boss of rival firm Colossus Bets.
Marantelli staked £34,000 to win the seven-figure Coral jackpot completed by Watford’s draw at Brighton. He was looking to cash in for around £580,000 before the final match but Coral do not offer the opportunity to take an early profit and ended up paying out £1m. |
