Are Spurs not very short here.. Thought last year Anzhi were the next big team in Russia and had millions to spend.
Any idea of the teams?

anzhi have financial probs...well the owner does...so had to sell off some stars...etto..willian...

..spurs should be good enough for at least a draw
Report webboncfc October 3, 2013 2:27 PM BST
Since then the owner has pulled the plug and they have lost basically all their players. I think Defoe, Holtby and Lamela and meant to be starting for Spurs.
Report egner October 3, 2013 2:28 PM BST
morale dreadfull as well.....and form....bottom of league.
Report egner October 3, 2013 2:32 PM BST
..although they are at home...and don't have that much to lose...so maybe they will just go for it....

could be a good game!!
Report egner October 3, 2013 2:38 PM BST
..although for anzhi home isn't really home...nope...

in reality any sort of spurs performance should get a win.
Report mcmurphy October 3, 2013 2:44 PM BST
spurs 1.49with bet fair.8/11 with pp.wouldnt touch them till price went above evens!

I might have backed five teams in my life to win away from home at odds-on. Tonight will be the sixth. Spurs are absolute certainties.
Report kellydamo October 3, 2013 2:52 PM BST

Report snooki151 October 3, 2013 3:05 PM BST
comparing anzhi last year to this year is pointless, they are basically an entirely new team, and a poor one at that- their record in the russian prem this year is: P11 W0 D6 L5. no-hopers
Report jermaine defonebox October 3, 2013 3:07 PM BST
I'm going spurs by 3 and 4 or more £50 each
Report snooki151 October 3, 2013 3:09 PM BST
i wouldn't, i can see us going 2 up and then sitting on it for the rest of the game, not really doing anything - just like we did against tromso
Report HHG October 3, 2013 3:10 PM BST
Spurs could (and probably should) put out their youth team tonight and get a favourable result.
Report comicbookguy October 3, 2013 3:20 PM BST
I have backed Spurs at 8/15 and a little one on 0-0, cos watching match so wanted a bet but be careful Anzhi not terrible, I backed against them last week in Russian league when they played CSKA and they got a 0-0 draw, so they can defend. Think Spurs would take a draw before match, this comp is a minefield. BEWARE!!! ha ha

Report viva el presidente! October 3, 2013 4:05 PM BST
couple of K come for soldado between 5.2 and 5.8 in the last half hour, smithy.

would make sense. if he scores, it builds confidence. if he doesn't... well, going out of this competition would suit spurs anyway, so who cares. still solid money for defoe, too.
Report viva el presidente! October 3, 2013 4:05 PM BST
cheers biccy.
Report comicbookguy October 3, 2013 4:12 PM BST
Just over evens for Defoe to score looks a fair price when he is only striker. Still think it could be tighter than people think. Do hope Spurs start fast then it could be all over by half time.
Report WestWayStar October 3, 2013 4:19 PM BST
Easy spurs win.
Report smithy91 October 3, 2013 4:20 PM BST
yes viva defoe had solid money for first goalscorer in all games so far. he keeps scoring first to!

someone has just matched me at 18 on dembele to score looks a bit big to me thatCool

well, yeah smithy - 18.0 to score looks decent when he's been backed that short to score first!

anyone with strong nerves could also back defoe FGS at 5.2 now, then lay it off bit by bit in play in the 4s.

so long as no one else scores early and he doesn't go off injured, it wouldn't surprise me to see him being nibbled away at as low as 3/1.
Report smithy91 October 3, 2013 4:41 PM BST
I reckon 4.5 viva defoe. he was backed at 4 in play against tromso I had a big green on him and came extremely close to laying it at that short prcie but I had a feeling he would score first Silly

I refer you to the words of those football prophets, Mick and Keef:

Anzhi, Anzhi, when will those clouds all disappear?
Anzhi, Anzhi, where will it lead us from here?
With no loving in our souls and no money in our coats
You can't say we're satisfied
But Anzhi, Anzhi, you can't say we never tried

thought they were insanely short for this. I guess Spurs are a bit better than last year but most of all it shows up how poor Russian footie is. Used to quite rate it. Know better now. Will make money off that fact.   (I was a victim of 'The Zenith Disaster' the other day so may be biased by that - but still)
