me too, backed Palace @3.50

Swansea look good , and entitled to be favs , but Palace not looking like the mugs they were made out to be so far , and too big a price imo

this is how i price it FWIW

Palace 3.01
Draw 3.48
Swansea 2.63

palace have a pretty solid, balanced team and formation... biggest problems are the lack of pace at the back, and the attacking unit having so many new players

it means the defensive midfielders have to sit back and give the defenders a lot of protection (which they've done well so far tbf)

also means the attacking passing game looks pretty disjointed as the players arent really familiar with each other yet. theres definite protential there, lots of pace and movement and a decent target man in chamakh, but its still a work in progress

Sub, looks to me why you've given the reasons why Swans are slight favs.
Swans dnb for me anway. gl.

p.s keep your eye on jedinak he's the defensive midfielder your talking about sub, very good player....will shine this season IMO
Report subversion September 22, 2013 12:10 PM BST
jedinak and dikgacoi both play as defensive midfielders in the 4-2-3-1, and both have been good, but yes, jedinak has been outstanding

dikgacoi is suspended for this game i believe after ashley youngs diving last week, so we'll see if Holloway changes the formation or not. it was always a problem last season - if either jedinak/dikgacoi was unavailable, palace looked weaker, they work very well together as a defensive unit

Bo Bony now too & price 2.18?!

3 palace changes in the starting lineup. can't quite figure out what that formation is meant to be either.

looks like Holloway is in an experimental mood

palace central defenders shocking as usual. *sigh*
Report subversion September 22, 2013 1:35 PM BST
swansea hit the bar, palace defending all over the place
Report subversion September 22, 2013 1:36 PM BST
still havent figured out this formation, is jerome playing left wing!?
Report RMB © September 22, 2013 1:44 PM BST
Swansea all over them.
Report subversion September 22, 2013 1:49 PM BST
too many changes by Holloway. shaky defence getting no protection, and Jerome is wandering around on the left wing looking lost and confused
Report subversion September 22, 2013 1:57 PM BST
this palace team are playing like a bunch of strangers

which, tbf, they pretty much are
Report subversion September 22, 2013 2:34 PM BST
delaney off injured, just noticed palace have no defenders on the bench

well this should be interesting Laugh
Report subversion September 22, 2013 2:37 PM BST
0-2, ridiculous defending
Report subversion September 22, 2013 3:22 PM BST
p!ss poor by Palace. worst they've played all season.

too many changes, messed up formation, even more messed up when you have no defenders on the bench and one gets injured.

rethink needed by Holloway
Report Roger De Bris September 22, 2013 3:27 PM BST
palace 1 shot on target....lamb of Jaysus....

at least dikgacoi will be back next match to help jedinak protect that dodgy defence

he'll be needed, if the delaney injury is serious then palace dont have enough fit defenders now.

hope Holloway has also learned that Jerome is not a left winger. maybe the attacking players can practice passing to each other in training too.

comical stuff today. dear me.
Report kenwood September 22, 2013 8:34 PM BST
shocking stuff...jedinak playing centre back 2nd half, jerome and chamakh looked like john terry and wayne bridge at a wedding reception!

TBF....swansea looked a class outfit, very organsied, ruthless upfront (apart from wayne routledge), great tactics from the manager....they went 2-0 up and were keeping the ball for 2-3 mins at a time without actually doing anything ....that's how you defend a lead!
