Rather see Champions league  to be exactly that - restricted to those who won their own league and more emphasis placed on domestic competitions - our FA cup still popular in spite of the efforts to downgrade it.

cant remember the last time I watched an international match,all the hype if England qualify for the finals in brazil is going to drive me up the wall,i would pull the curtain's if they was playing the world cup final outside my house,roll on Saturday when the players will start putting in a bit of effort again.

not from the entertainment side but from gambling side all that matters is liquidity and most of the internationals attract decent liquidity especially when there arent many of them at the same time
