Bayern need a top, top striker to maintain their position at the top of European football. Mandzukic works hard but hasn't got the class IMO. I'd have Gomez over him anyday. Seems to me that Bayern put all their eggs in one basket trying to get Lewandowski. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see them break the bank to get someone like Suarez or even Ibra in the coming days.

Some thoughts. I am a Kilmarnock supporter (Juventus want one of the Kilmarnock players and Fray Bentos want the rest of them) so completely unbiased. I am really enjoying this game, Jose seems to be trying to emulate the great Capello led AC MILAN side who worked hard to close down play but flooded forward when any chances arose. The big fella for Bayern wearing number 4 in the left back position looks a very useful player indeed. Robben and Ribery are being pushed wider at every opportunity where they are less dangerous. I guess Bayern will be trying to get them more centralised in second half attacks.
