Anyone got a view on the new bet from Koral? I'm still working out how winnable it is but good to see something a bit different for start of season.

The true odds must be about 2m/1?

Will still have a go though each week.

It will cost you £15 this week not £1

You bet between £1 and £20 per selection: http://www.coral.co.uk/football-jackpot

^^^^^^^^^^^^not right.   You pick the results of 15 games and your minimum stake can be a pound.
Report Durham Edition August 12, 2013 11:30 PM BST
My understanding on first glance at the bet was that there was a guaranteed £1 million pool, which like with any pool bet could be split amongst multiple winners - which is fair enough.

However it looks like the £1 million is only available if there is a single winner. So if there is 10k bet in total and you are into the last leg, it looks like you win £1m if you cop the last result on your own, but £5k if someone else cops the full 15/15 too.

Not very impressed if I am reading this right -  means you never know where you stand and whether you are playing for £1 million is entirely dependent on no one else picking same results as you.

I will ask in my local Koral tomorrow.

What is the Football Jackpot?

Simply predict the outcome of 15 matches and this week you could turn £1 into £1,000,000.
Pick your winners by 3PM every Saturday either online, mobile app or at your local Coral shop.
How to play

Simply mark your outcome in each game by clicking Home Win, Draw or Away Win
Select your stake from £1 to £20 per line, multiplying by the number of lines gives you, your total stake
Then click Place Bet and you are in with your chance to win

Correct. The million will be there till there is a single winner one week,  other than that multiple winners will get the jackpot dividened x their unit stake

It must be 100/000-1 or more to get 15/15 results, yet you could get 15/15 and only win a few thousand on this bet. In fact you could win even less than that as it all depends on money bet into the pool with the guarantee not applicable if someone lands on same results as you.

I'll do the sums and post in the morning.

15 matches, ha,ha,ha. Hard enough to get 1 right. Whoops
Report Magic__Daps August 13, 2013 10:27 AM BST
Basically says in their rules that the pool may be 500k and could have 10 winners. They take 30% off the top so you end up with 35k for 2,000,000/1 shot. Ridiculous and p1ss poor bet.

Better off doing the same bet away from the pool which will pay a hell of a lot more - simple. Are the people who run coral a bit simple......,

Report yuvutu August 13, 2013 2:40 PM BST
Agree with you magic daps but if the jackpot pool rolls over a few weeks to millions then surely it would be better to do the jackpot coupon than a normal coupon (although the jackpot coupon specifies the 15 games you got to predict the result of)  plus I think corals max payout on a footy coupon.is 500k.  Oh but suppose you got to hope you are a sole winner
Report racingunited111 August 13, 2013 6:26 PM BST
prefer colossusbets idea myself 10 million with consolations
Report Durham Edition August 14, 2013 12:31 AM BST
Articles in today's Racing Post on both the koral bet and colossusbets £10 million bet. Not had chance to consider in detail but will do so tomorrow.
Report racingunited111 August 14, 2013 1:10 PM BST
Dont think corals bet will last as you only win a million if individual winner at least with colossus what they state is fact 10 million jackpot if you win you win and cash out facility brilliant its just coral seeing colossus come on the market with a unique bet and they are trying to compete with a bet thats just flawed.
Report racingunited111 August 14, 2013 1:12 PM BST
Would anyone enter the scoop 6 knowing that if more than 1 winner the gtee pot does not come into play ?
Report Durham Edition August 14, 2013 10:48 PM BST
So you upshot of this is you might win £1m with the koral jackpot bet if you get 15/15 – but you might win SFA if anyone else also gets 15/15. The £1m "guarantee" is a sham.

Colossusbets harder to win but the guarantee is different league (£10m) and it is not withdrawn if more than one winner. Cash in looks v interesting too.
Report tobermory August 15, 2013 12:31 AM BST
If you want to win the million then better not pick the 15 shortest prices on the coupon, as thats what 85% of punters will do .
Report racingunited111 August 15, 2013 11:35 AM BST
Spot on Tobermory you will need to do some outsiders with the coral bet to be an exclusive winner and yes the colossus will be extremely hard to win but i think they want this to create a say 50 million 60 million jackpot which will appeal to the public but there is a 2 million gt on 6 scores not to be sneezed at and other smaller pool bets and the cash out of the bet at stages is a great option for all.
Report Durham Edition August 15, 2013 11:32 PM BST
The nail in the coffin for the koral bet is that there is no transparency around what is bet into the pool. Given the £1m "guarantee" is a sham guarantee, people betting into the pool need to know what is actually on the table to be won. Is there 2k, 20k or 200k bet into this pool?

"Total pool stakes" is essential information for anyone betting into a pool. All tote bets provide this - as does the new Colossus bet. Koral on the other hand don't. It is a bet which really does fail on every count.
