Tongue in cheek max ;)

By:
dont bank on it... this happens all the time with some lower lge european games and they dont always void those markets
By:
How much are usually matched on those markets though?
By:
Why would they void it?
I placed my bet pre game and i expect it to stand. |
By:
when will BF let us know what is happening?
By:
its a dunking day today
By:
there is no feed for the game
![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
is that what they said? Useless c*nts. Tell them to get on firstrow there's about 2 dozen!
By:
Biscuit - never going to please everyone. Some trade a sh!t ton during a game, others leave as is. I'm not telling you anything you didnt know obviously.
But the rules state the game is in-play. It isn't. Well not after about 10 mins so should be voided imo |
By:
they havent said anything on twitter so its not been voided
By:
They will void it because it is unfair to people who wanted to trade. I've had that happen on several occasions. You should receive an email like this at some stage in the next few hours:
"Dear xxxx, One or more of your bets, placed on the market has been voided/lapsed by Betfair. Whilst these bets were all placed in good faith, in order to be fair to all users we have had to void/lapse them." Betfair is an exchange. Regardless of whether your bet was placed pre-game/ in-play and whether you had the view of trading, or letting your bet stand throughout, the circumstances here are such that in order to be fair to all users, the market has to be voided and all bets refunded. It was a technical error that affected the market. |
By:
A lot of people wouldnt have got involved if this wasnt in-play, myself included.
By:
theyve just tweeted this: The Liverpool game is being managed by our team in Hobart, they currently have an issue with the feed which is why the markets are suspended, Until the issues with the feed are rectified, the markets will remain suspended. We hope to have the market reactivated as soon as possible.
By:
No feed? I assume its in Australian wallet, why don't they turn their tv on channel 73 (on FTA)
By:
@Maxwell_number9 the markets won't be voided unfortunately.

homas : Hello welcome to Betfair you are chatting with Thomas. How can I help?
You: i hope your now going to void the liverpool market after yet more incompetence from betunfair Thomas: for what reason? I am unfamiliar with what has happened in the match You: its been suspended for no reason for the last 25 mins Thomas: ah ok, i see. there was a message sent round a little while ago. the feed is not working for the game so it can not be offered in-play. we do not void bets in this circumstance You: dont talk lies its live on tv, every other sportsbook is fine, stop trying to fob people off with lies Thomas: our feed is not working, why else would we suspend the market? You: bevause your a bunch of clowns Thomas: no. because the feed is not working. it can not be offered in play You: its live on tv you idiot You: its went inplay, so why is it your betfair team is saying its a different issue.. Thomas: it went in-play, then the feed stopped working, therefore it was suspended You: didnt you pay your tv bill or something, how is it every other sportsbook is fine, apart from you lot as usual Thomas: i cant speak for other companies as I do not work for them. I work for betfair and our live feed is not working You: you use the same feeds as these other companys, im not an idiot Thomas: you are also not an employee, therefore have no idea what feeds we use. if the market is suspended, people cant bet. if people cant bet then we dont get any commission. there is absolutely no logic in suspended a market unless we have no choice You: well stop taking peoples money as soon as you **** up |
By:
Thomas: we dont take your money, betfair is an exchange, you bet against other people. please do not swear or insult on the chat or i will simply terminate it
You: you take your commission this is why you wont void the markets. |
By:
Thomas: no, again, you are incorrect. we dont void the markets as not everyone bets with an intention to trade. if we void then the other side of the argument to yours is that a customer had no intention of trading, why should their bet suffer
Thomas: we have to be fair to both backers and layers You: well thats what the sportsbook is for. Thomas: many people have been using the exchange in such a way for numerous years. remember we have only had the sportsbook for a few months You: no the point is you cannot manage your markets properly, end of story, your incompetence is mind blowing, no wonder betfair is dieing |
By:
surely they can open markets now its half time
By:
hahahaha.... that was amusing.
Alright so let me get this straight. They advertise a game as in-play betting, suspend betting within 10min of the start and then say 'they do not void bets in this circumstance'? When the Frrrk else would you void a market then? This seems like the prime case of when you SHOULD void a market. Completely retarded. I suppose there's always hope that Victory can equalise :/ |
By:
i think if the markets remain suspended for the whole game then theres a case for voiding the market.. otherwise it aint gonna happen
By:
I need 4 more goals then!
![]() |
By:
"We have to be fair to both backers and layers". How is this fair to both parties? Fairness would be to void the market and refund all bets! Maybe they both wanted to trade, maybe neither did. The fact is they had no option to do so
By:
kingmax - can you ask Thomas if they insist on having it suspended all game, can they just re-open them whilst it's ht then close them again at kick off
By:
ou: so its half time, why is it not open now..? more incompetence
By:
So the trader who has lumped £2000 on Liverpool at 1.23 and now wants to lay off at 1.05 cant?
Good luck telling him that when Melbourne equalise in the last minute and you c*nts are still suspended. In-play MEANS f*cking IN-PLAY. It isnt IN-F*CKING-PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
By:
You: well
By:
The point is difficult. Let's say, I have bet against Liverpool Ov. 2.5 with odds 1.33. And for 20 minutes I had no chance to save money I already won (as the odds moved from 1.33 upwards). At this moment, I could have bet on Bet365 with odds 1.90. But I dont, as I think: If I bet at Bet365 my bet is safe (no loss) but I will not know if it will be voided at Betfair (and if its going to be Under2.5 I will lose money on Bet365). Everyone has his own rights (ante-post players and traders) but the solution is only one: when something is not working, within some minutes Betfair should write something in the market, as for example: "Bets are going to be voided" or "Market is suspended but bets are still valid". So everyone knows how to react. Wrong?
