If this 10m + Mata deal that is being reported is actually true. I don't know who is the bigger mugs. Chelsea for actually offering that, or Man Utd for rejecting it. If Moyes is rejecting bids like this he's gotta go, he'd have to be truly clueless.

I was going to say, that'd be a deal and a half for us. Mata is a genius and a player we crave (sorry Cleverly, you're good, but you're a way off bring world class).

That bid is almost too good to be true imo. I'm not sure I quite believe it. I know the papers reported when Mourinho come in that he wasn't actually that keen on Mata, and would be willing to offload him to raise funds for players, but seriously this deal? It can't be serious can it.

I'd snap Chelsea's hand off for a straight swap Rooney for Mata ffs.

Mata is at his best from deep and playing up centrally beside the 2 wingers. Moyes wants to play Kagawa there, maybe that's why we didn't accept it as we want an actual deep lying midfielder alongside Carrick.

It's not bad. Mata and Kagawa could interchnage during the match much like Hazard and Mata did to great affect last year.

Released by the press association and its all over the news, must be true. Think its just a starting shot, and see where they go with it, ie does Rooney want to go to Chelsea and visa versa, plus everybody knows that Luiz and Mata aren't in Mourinho's plans, so that opens up bids coming in for them.

Luiz is a bit of a liability but could do a great job if hones alongside Carrick. Maybe they give us both please? :)

I honestly cant see it happening. he is a top player IMO But with Transfer fees, contract and Agents fees it would cost Chelsea close to 100 million

if moyes has rejected that offer on the basis of how it would affect his plans for kagawa, he truly is the idiot liverpool fans are desperately claiming he is.

Its not Moyes job to reject offers, its the boards, one of the executives came out and said that they dont have a problem at united letting contracts run down, so this tells you that Rooney isnt going to get a revised offer anytime soon, but after his last revised contract i am sure he isnt too bothered, perhaps United would find it hard to turn down 30mil plus Mata

I'd be amazed if they'd offered Mata to United. Luiz is a bit more believable.

However i'm leaning towards this story being a complete load of sh*t. No comments from United, Chelsea or even an agent suggests it's completely made up.

There is a lot of smoke here though Biscuit. Seems highly likely some sort of bid was made this morning, it would have surely been denied by now if it wasn't true. Sky Sports News have been reporting it for a couple of hours.

Juan Mata signed for Chelsea for 23.5 million 2 years ago. Since then he's signed a new contract up to 2018.

David Luiz signed for 25 million in January 2011. Since then he's signed a new contract until 2017 and become a regular in the Brazil side.

Do people really believe Chelsea have made an offer which effectively values them at no more than we paid for them?
