Every England supporter should be given a refund. Do the FA realise how much those tickets are?

Seemed like they were on a UN Peacekeeping mission so as not to get one over on an old rival.

The likes of Rooney, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott should never wear the shirt again. An absolute disgrace.

Agreed. An absolute disgrace. Shameful

not a disgrace, just think thats as good as they are

Nothing new.

It's been the same story for 20 years now.
Report Glossy May 29, 2013 9:53 PM BST
I can cope with them not being good. It's the lack of effort when supporters are paying £60 a head to get in that I have an issue with. They didn't even try. Disgusting.
Report JC1326 May 29, 2013 9:53 PM BST
Is this a thinly veiled ''I-backed-England'' seeth?
Report Vasco08 May 29, 2013 9:55 PM BST
Would say so, was always gonna be tight though as Ireland are pretty tight away from home and england already on holidays
Report punkha1 May 29, 2013 9:55 PM BST
Rooney didn't wanna score against his home country.
Report Glossy May 29, 2013 9:55 PM BST
Not at all. I backed goals though admittedly. Financial interest aside though, I'm an England supporter and that was an absolute embarassment to our nation. Rooney didnt even break sweat! Roy have some balls and get this cancer away from our team.
Report Big muff May 29, 2013 9:56 PM BST
Same old England the serial underachievers,  unfortunately I think that thats as good as we are totally lacking quality and totally devoid of creativity
Report ronin4s May 29, 2013 9:58 PM BST
Ashley Cole just said he rated this as his number one match in an England jersey, tells you everything you need to know about him, totally self absorbed.
Report cricnut May 29, 2013 9:58 PM BST
Not under achievers, that's as good as we are
Report mafeking May 29, 2013 10:00 PM BST
could easily see them losing to ukraine who gave us the run around twice last year and then we'd be in desperate trouble
Report Big muff May 29, 2013 10:02 PM BST
I mean underachievers in what people expect of them, overrated would probably be a better way of describing them
Report cricnut May 29, 2013 10:08 PM BST
Standard of Football in this country isn't good in the League's and that's with all the useless foreigners playing, so why everyone, expects England to do well, baffles me. We should take qualifying for the Finals (if we do) as close to success, as we are going to achieve.
Report kincsem May 29, 2013 10:09 PM BST
... but still World class.
Report cricnut May 29, 2013 10:11 PM BST
yes they are world class, until the game begins
Report themover May 29, 2013 10:12 PM BST
I dont expect them to be world champions but I think it's reasonable to expect them to win a home game against Ireland Cry

If Ukraine give us the run around for a third time and we win 1-0/draw 1-1 that'll be fine.

Dont know why your'e digging Ox out. For someone who plays quite rarely, he looked like one of the best in the team. (Which isn't saying much I grant you)
Report Glossy May 29, 2013 10:25 PM BST
Were you watching the game? He was dreadful!
Report leazes67 May 29, 2013 10:26 PM BST
this is only the start...wont even qualify for brasil.
Report PHILthePOWER May 29, 2013 10:40 PM BST
I'm Irish so you think i'd be happy with a draw away from home but i'm actually dissapointed.

As bad as we are English are awful.

Ox, Walcott, Rooney & Johnson are something of League 1 standard imo.

England 50million population (yous cant even pick 11 players who play with heart and passion)
Ireland 4.5 million (at least they try and play for there country)

the 2 teams who were in there Group in the Euros played each other in the FINALS
Says it all really :)

"yous cant even pick 11 players who play with heart and passion"

This is the only bit you had to say. I can't remember the last time I saw an England team play with heart and passion. Less so play with any ability that befits their domestic wages.

Draw half time full time was 6-1.
My only regret was a £100 insurance bet when England reached 2.58.
This is a betting forum and that result was hardly a surprise.

A number of those players on the pitch readily fit the description 'disgrace' on a regular basis, give you that.

What made me laugh was that late chance for Chamberlain, like Robben's pathetic effort on Saturday but his rolled in making him a hero.
Would have been same if Chamberlain scuffed that one in.
Report dukeofpuke May 30, 2013 1:04 AM BST
if you dont rate england then you can do this lay england at 27 for the world cup in brazil or do one
Report BARNEY21. May 30, 2013 8:07 AM BST
Money or an excess of money is strangling the game almost everywhere and particu;larly in England where the most basic of players assume they are worth circa £60/65k a week,if you want entertainment/effort/ no little skill go watch the youngsters while they are still free from the money grubbing.Look at the furore over Di Canios action lambasting/punishing players for being totally unprofessional football in this country needs more of his kind inmo.
Report kincsem May 30, 2013 7:10 PM BST
England will be 3rd/4th favourites for the World Cup at about 7/1 next year.
Get out the St George's Cross flags on the cars now.
Report Mr Eboue May 30, 2013 7:11 PM BST
They wont be 7/1.

Double that and you'll be close.
Report mafeking May 30, 2013 7:52 PM BST
more likely to 1000 i would have thought. 1/10 or thereabouts for them to qualify are laughable

yep leazes say they lose in ukraine and get 4 points from the 2 homes probably won't finish in the top 2 and to win the group need 3 wins out of 4 minimum

Fans are being taken for mugs. Paying decent money to watch overpaid players trot about without a care in the World serving up total dross. I doubt a thought about the fans even entered their heads, as they sauntered back to their fancy hotel to sip champagne and have total cretins running after them because they're famous. Famous my arse, if they all walked past my house, I'd keep the curtains shut and boost up the volume on my stereo that was playing dido's greatest hits.
Report NEILTHERED May 30, 2013 8:55 PM BST
How many of you people are England supporters?Yes they didn't play very well, then again it was only a friendly. Not the first eleven,a few injuries.Anybody that paid over the minimum price(£35)then that was their choice, they knew what they were likely to be watching.
GLOSSY:Of course the FA realise how much the tickets are,THEY make the prices, and why should we get a refund?
I was there last night, and even though it wasn't brilliant it was a reasonable game.
Report Winner_Winner_Chicken_Diner May 30, 2013 9:51 PM BST
I think Shane Long is ready for much bigger club with all respect to WBA. You have to love this kid and the heart he plays with. Irelands best player imo. Regards, the match from Englands perspective, its time to start playing like Ireland imo. Nothing fancy, just hoof it up the pitch. You can't polish a turd, time to embrace the players available.Tony Pulis is available
Report leazes67 May 30, 2013 10:02 PM BST
have a look at englands w/c qualifying group.
only beaten the 2 bottom teams san marino and moldova.
ukraine play s/marino twice so theres 6 points in the bag
if they beat england its likely we wont be going to brasil
and thats without taking montenegro into consideration.
Report mafeking May 30, 2013 10:30 PM BST
there are 6 meaningful games in the group and so far it's played 3 drawn 3. surely must win 2 of the 3 proper games left even to make sure of a top 2 place. it will be touch go. failing to beat ukraine at home in the first (we were lucky to get a draw) could come to haunt them
Report ShannonSpray May 30, 2013 11:17 PM BST
