More action from the best league in the world as River Plate look to go joint top tonight (at least for a few hours) against Altetico Rafaela. River are three points behind leaders Newell's and they know is a must win game tonight.
And coach Ramon Diaz is going for broke with an ultra attacking line up. He is going with three forwards. Iturbe, Mori, and Luna as a front three with playmaker Lanzini in the hole as per usual. Ledesma returns to the midfield alongside Rojas so essentially River are playing with no holding/defensive midfielder. And when u think defenders Vangioni and Mercado are better going forward than they are defending just shows you how offensive River's line up is.
River drew 2-2 away to Union last week. On paper it's a poor result against the, almost certain to be, relegated Union. But considering River were 2-0 down early it might be seen as a point gained in the end.
River are undefeated at home in their last 12 matches.
Rafaela's good run of form came to an abrupt end last week with an awful performance in losing 2-0 at home to Estudiantes. That has put them out of the running for a Copa Sudamericana place. The only thing they have to play for is to improve their average for next season. They have been quite solid at the back this season and have only conceded 13 goals in the league.
This is sh!t or bust for River. Too often in Argentina coaches and players are too conservative in their approach. That can't be labelled at Ramon Diaz. He has always been a brave coach and tonight he will throw everything at this stuffy Rafaela side. I hope his bravery is rewarded. I'm certain his bravery will be rewarded. This is a must win game for River and they have the tools on the pitch to deliver it for them. I have gone in big time on River winning, and I have also backed them -1 on the Asians.

following yesterday reprieve... I pressed a fatal cash out button before celtic red goal.. would have been 4.3k in profit today .. had over in the celtic game.. but took a small red 58 SECONDS before the goal went in on 80 mins... then lossess on Lazio vs Roma.. placed over 3.5 in valencia... redded out at HT for only 250 quid.. Placed that on over 3.5 in Real match for 3.1.. the over 0.5 in PSG @1.3.. and so on and so forth.. to get back at 0.5k profit.. but I am still gutted somehow..
New strategy is working .. but i have to be more calm and composed.

Ramon Diaz deserves a lot of credit. It's good to see River and Newell's at the top - both teams try and play football the right way

For those asking about the Newell's v Boca game it looks straight forward on paper. Boca will be playing a team that is similar to the one hammered 3-0 at San Lorenzo two weeks ago. Newell's will probably rest a few but they will still field a fairly strong side. They know victory tonight gives them one hand on the league trophy. In theory this is Newell's hardest remaining league game. Their run-in is All Boys, Union, Aletico Rafaela and Argentinos Jrs. You couldn't hand pick a better run-in than that. I was speaking to a Newell's fan earlier and he said a draw is not a bad result as the run-in is easy.

Deffo 1 to watch this season. Looked at having a go on them in outright, but biggest price was 14s so left it as that looked bit tight to me. Not watchin them now though, no point really, hard to judge them vs likes of Goias.
Watched Santos Fla earlier. Santos cud well be in a fight to avoid drop without Neymar. Looked awful, played off pitch by Fla, who no great shakes themselves.

don't think they threw it as such, but keeping NOB in the hunt 4 the league title does obv take away from their Copa lib hopes. Santa Fe look the real dangers in Copa Lib, i personally tink they shud deffo b in final at v least.....but....u mite no b aware but if Flu and Mg qualify, then the semi line up wud change and they wud have 2 play each other, meaning Boca v SF wud possibly b the other semi

its a rule not many peeps know about. if 2 teams from same country get to semis the bracket gets voided and they play each other. basically to avoid having 2 teams from same place in final to keep more people interested and get bigger audience.

they looked out on their feet though at end of game. scored from 2 corners. cruz azul missed a sitter 2 wrap it up wit 10 to go
good advert though 4 having no away goal rule. means that always a chance of a miracle comeback late on
