Ref didn't play to the rules.  4 mins of injury time but there was a substitution made during added time but he never added the extra 30 secs for Stoke to take the free kick.

2 of the worst teams ever to grace the premiership. It would be justice if Stoke and Sunderland were relegated.

The sunderland 11 tonight have managed 8 goals from open play all season. Even when they dominated posession tonight they created zero. Absolute terrible outfit

we can certainly say sunderland are now safe on goal difference

Newcastle shouldnt fokk up against QPR

Norwich should win at home v Brom

Wigan therefore need to beat Swansea , can't assume they'll beat Villa

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz  Cant argue or debate the point so hurl an insult. Laugh

The match tonight was absolutely abysmal. Devoid of any quality what so ever. You look at Villa, Newcastle, Wigan and can at least see some ability to play the game, some skill and technical ability. Sunderland and to a lesser extent Stoke have none.

Sunderland are technically the 2nd worst team in the premiership behind Reading. Even tonight when they supposedly "Dominated" Crazy , They had no idea how to use the possession. Stoke if they had any quality would have won by 3 goals minimum. Villa showed last week the absolute gulf in ability between Sunderland and the genuine premiership teams.

Newcastle 0 Sunderland 3
Sunderland 1 Everton 0

Please explain these two recent results to me

Sunderland beat a pub team in Newcastle. Newcastle have alot more ability than Sunderland but because the players have been lost by the manager, a conference outfit could beat them imho. As for the Everton result, no one doubts Sunderlands determination and this can sometimes for one match make up for the lack of ability. Its a massive positive for the club but what I am saying is that Sunderland are devoid of genuine quality.

The ONLY reason they will not be relegated this year is that 2 clubs below (QPR & Newcastle) them have players who dont give a 5hit about the club despite have vastly superior technical ability. Mbia sending tweets asking to leave the club and QPR still have matches to play Laugh

Whats in no doubt is that Sunderland out of the 3 have by a mile the biggest hunger for the battle.

There were actually 2 subs in injury, and the time took well over a minute, closer to 2 if you watch the footage; yet he blew before the kick which could have produced a goal. It's amazing that week in, week out refs are allowed to get away with this. Say Stoke had scored, or Sunderland as he blew before even 4 mins had elapsed, it could have been the difference between a team staying up or going down.

Thanks yunt87.  You are right, I missed the Crouch substitution.  I agree with you entirely about the possible ramifications of a goal being scored during the "missed time".  I don't understand how the referee can decide not to add the time on, surely it is something he must adhere to, it is not down to his discretion. On a different note I also noticed how he got involved in the first half with a Stoke corner.  To my knowledge the ball does not need to be touching the quadrant, the edge of the ball merely needs to be hovering over it.  Yet he insisted on the Stoke player moving the ball back so it was touching.  I know this makes little difference but the worrying point is a referee in charge who does not know the rules.
