Villa are 4 to back to go down

Wigan are 2.64

Wigan are 3 points behind, have 2 games in hand, a better goal difference and they play Villa at home on the final day

ok, so they have the FA Cup Final but surely staying in the Prem is more important

surely Wigan and Villa should be much closer in the betting? 9/4 each?

makes Villa look value, they might need to beat Wigan away to stay up

what say you?

Partly agree, although Villa's league form has hugely improved

Stoke down anyway IMO

till they play Villa they don't seem to have a game you would have them favourite too win

very hard draw i think - maybe they would take an FA Cup win over staying up and that continued tedium (the tedium being being in a relegation battle each year)

yes but they only have to match what Villa do to end up with 2 games plus home to villa to make up 3 points

no way they should be less than half the price

and whilst my comment might seem strange consider this

it's 2028

The History Of Wigan reads

of their moment of glory in 2013 this team from a Rugby League town winning the FA Cup

no one will remember if in 2014 they were in the premier league or the championship

(so long as they do get back up again)

People in having a different opinion shocker. City, Spurs and Arsenal are all still fighting for something so they won't beat them. Away to West Ham is about the most drab, dull game you could cough up and they'll be happy with a point away, same with West Brom who won't really be trying as they've got nothing left to bother with. Swansea have been shat since the cup final and Villa have taken 10 points from the last 15 and led in every game, look a much improved side up for the fight. It's wigan's time to go.

Can't see Stoke going tbh Nilsson - on a shocking run but have QPR (a), Norwich (h), Sunderland (a), Spurs (h) and Saints (a) - should beat a woeful QPR and that'll be them as good as safe.

woeful qpr at loftus road, with last chance desperation - very tough game.

All these relegation threads and no one seems to mention Norwich. I think they can get the points they need to survive but relegation price over the past few weeks has, in my opinion, built in a win this Saturday against Reading. If they don't win that, what price then?
Other games remaining are Stoke, ASTON VILLA, WEST BROM and Man City.

norwich p[riced is based on them to beat reading ,if they don't i'd expect it to be around 2.5 to 3 ... shorter than Vanillas price -or it certainly will be
By:

All the prices seem to be based on current points. Doesn't take form into account which is why Stoke was, is, and will continue to be the value pick.

surprised Stoke don't sack their manager - like Sunderland and unlike QPR and Reading it's not too late to save their season

Price updates currently to back:

Wigan: 1.73
Villa: 3.4

What price if Villa get humped tonight at old trafford?

Last game is Wigan v Villa, with the current gap between them could that still be crucial.
By:
Coachbuster
When: 22 Apr 13 12:59
odds are normally based on current points mrfish at the lower end primarily becasue its harder for bottom sides to put points on the board - better to have them

opposite at the top - better to have the games in hand
By:

yes, wigan v villa  will be crucial - my theory is that wigan will need to win that to stay up

the game at vanilla park ended 0-3

been annoying to see all the other sides find wins out the blue just above them

was hoping might be 5-6 sides involved

Wigan play 2 mid table teams which must give them a good chance of stopping up. However, the tactics of the manager are unfathomable.

Lots of possession in most games, not many attempts on goal. Look at the stats on saturday. West Ham had as many shots but only a third of the ball.

The free kick 30 yards out at Newcastle earlier in the season sums things up. Losing the game, but no shot at goal or even a cross in. Ends up back with the Latics goalie.

Is this Martinez instructions you reckon (not just player nerves)?
By:

Martinez is a good coach of football skills but not sure of his tactical grasp in English football. However, as he's played here long enough I just dont know.

Just had another 350 on Wigan to go down , i just can't see where Wigan's points are coming from , but i would gladly lose the bet and see them stay up!!!

Well, I got the 0-3 for villa right. Expected Wigan to have taken a point at least from their last 2 but they haven't. Spurs still fighting for CL next season, West Brom are solid at home, Arsenal will still be in CL contention also. The way Sunderland are playing I actually expect them to turn us over at the weekend but Wigan still need to outscore us by 3 which could be the last game. Quietly confident we'll be ok, we're playing much better than they are and without their jammy last minute winner against Newcastle and equaliser against QPR they'd be 6 behind us now. Luck is not going to go their way for the 7th season running.

Cool

Do think we're overpriced at 33/1 to go down now, lose to Chelsea, Wigan WILL beat Swansea and we're back in the mix. If Wigan don't beat Swansea they then need to beat Arsenal away..

I dont know the result but Wigan are going to give us a tough game at the Emitrates. I can guarantee you that. Very mixed feelings as an Arsenal fan if we send Wigan down. Think they are becoming my second favourite team now.
