It's actually a touch bigger but having seen their remaining 8 fixtures I think they are doomed. They cod easily lose their next 4 - man utd, Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton. They may pick up a point at home to Everton but morale won't be good heading to Villa. They've then got two home games against Stoke and relegation rivals Southampton before their final game at White Hart Lane. Stoke and Newcastle are the only two fixtures where the teams won't have much to play for except for the fact that the Newcastle game happens to be one of the great English derby matches and Newcastle may be more determined to win than any other side! Sunderland currently have 31 points and I genuinely think they will finish with a maximum 38 points. I've looked at villa, Wigan and Southampton's run-ins and expect all three of those sides to pick up more points than Sunderland - 5/2 looks good to me

By the way.....this follows news fletcher and cattermole are out for the season - fletcher has scored a third of their goals this season (11) cattermole is their skipper and enforcer

is even a good back to lay bet, after them 4 games they could be in to 6-4

I agree, but i don't think i'll be trading out. They're bottom of the form table (last 7 games) and robbed of their most influential players

I got on them yesterday for £500.  No way they are staying up and dependant on other reuslts I will trade out.  They are bolloxed though.

If West Ham go down too I am laughing, got them at 10s

My only concern would be they are now forced to make changes due to injuries and that could have a positive effect on the team, similar to the "New manager" effect. They do have a tough run in though!

What's probably keeping their odds fairly high is Wigan's remaining fixtures, they look pretty tough as well.

Lot depends on Wigan getting results

Need to gain 5pts (with the gd) on sunderland

Considering sunderland min will pick up 3-4pts your backing on Wigan getting 8-9pts

Lot that goes on their fixture this week

I'm on at 3.85 too. Good chance of losing next 4 games, just hope that United aren't complacent on Saturday or even play a weakened team!

they might go down and probably will, but other teams at double figure prices are getting an easy ride here. one team, if they hadn't won their last home game in injury time would be below sunderlnd . plus they have the second worst away record in the league. but hey let the media kiss their arses

stoke,s next 4 games look interesting...they could quite easily lose all 4, and the 4 after that aint the easiest either

Next up, trip to Chelsea. Chelsea also lost today and will play TWICE more before Sunderland match at the bridge - so fatigue must be a factor. But problem at Sunderland is players lack any confidence, passing was shocking today and they struggled to create anything, I know it was man utd but still, it's time to roll up the sleeves etc. I think Chelsea's squad may just about cope Sunday, its a huge home game for them with spurs, liv and utd in next 4 games. So Sunderland may loose further ground on Wigan and villa who are at qpr and stoke. 7/4 right now Sunderland go down - I expect 6/5 after next w/e

Wigan 3.6 good price for the drop      8 games  3 at home

Home:  Spurs  Swansea   Villa

Away: QPR  Man City  West Ham  WBA  Arsenal

yes but the other teams only have 7 games, they only have to finish above one and they play Villa last

Wigan are the least likely to go down and if they beat QPR on sunday they will drift, even a point would be good if Sunderland and Villa lose (to Chelsea & Stoke away)

I needed villa to win at stoke today - banking on stoke to outmuscle Norwich at home. A point at Sunderland would be useful but great shout on stoke nonethelessless. Stoke still about 9/1 to go down which says it all really

I had a bet on Stoke in August. One of the threads on here was started and i fancied them to go down. Think they were 16's I'll check later.

They must have been five times that at Christmas. I feel silly for not putting more on.
