Because as your keeper has said they are playing the best footy in the country. Spurs have had a lot of luck to be where they are, and their goal difference suggests a lot of tight wins. Liverpool are purring like a super charged Bentley GT and are on the brink fo greatness once more. Suarez is the best player in the league and with Couthino & Sturridge with Lucas & Gerrard behind there is ammunition aplenty and they are scoring goals for fun.

Spurs are Spurs, mediocre. One man team really and keep Bale quiet (no easy taks granted) and their is not a lot else up top with Defoe injured.

12 points ahead of a very average Liverpool team yet Pool are heavy favourites.  I'm a little bit confused.  Confused

But you are deluding yourself if you think the Liverpool team is now average after only lacking support for King Louis and getting it.

The odds tell it as it is. A class home side ona roll v a determined, but limited & lucky Spuds.

Liverpool may well win, everyone knows they are hit and miss, but let's not pretend they've turned a corner and are the new invincibles.

3 games ago you lost at home to West Brom!! A 2 game winning streak against Swansea reserves and a hapless Wigan side and you class that as being 'on a roll'. Are you Brendan Rodgers?

Also ironic that you label Spurs a mediocre, one man team. Most people would class Liverpool as exactly that.
Report REDUNDANT PUNTER March 7, 2013 9:11 AM GMT
Its a starting point, lets say bale gets injured tonight, which is distinct possibility, and misses the game spurs odds would be bigger

the fact they are playing cup tie against top opposition three days before and also liverpool latest home form and form in general is pretty good scored plenty conceeded few

I think the price is posibly a little short, but I would have thought they would have been 2.0

Spurs had a terrible start to the season too, many seem to forget that, but are unbeaten in their last 12 league games.
I have Liverpool at 2.3 to win this, 1.9 is a joke of a price given Spurs are a better side away from home and have won more away than Liverpool have at home.

Agree with that CCM.  On current form I'd say the two teams were fairly evenly matched, the main difference being Spurs ability to win when playing below their best at times (a very welcome trait or any team) and Liverpool failing to convert good performances into points against top teams.  It should be a cracking game.

If we beat man c, chelsea and ars and lost to wigan and norwich, it would make sense. if we were playing the same game week in week out and we were a mid table side (or a top 4 side with a bottom 4 side manager) then the run of results we have had this season is exactly what you would expect to observe.

Liverpool backers generally don't understand this. Layers won't be down because you need 3/4 Liverpool wins against Swansea Res/Wigan to make back what you lost at West Brom.

It's a no brainer.

Liverpool may win (i make them favs @2.50) but 1.88 is really one of the worst prices of the season.

If Liverpool & Spurs were equal, then, with home advantage , 2.20 would about be the right price.

But how can anyone see Liverpool as equal to Tottenham?

2010~ Spurs 7pts above Liverpool
2011~ Spurs 4pts above Liverpool
2012~ Spurs 17pts above Liverpool
2013~ Spurs 12pts above Liverpool

And Spurs ,by pretty much anyone's account right now ,have a stronger team now than in any of those previous seasons.

But Liverpool aren't just seen ,absurdly , as just as good as Spurs (and hence 2.20) they are seen as comfortably superior , as a home team 1.88 has to be !

The only explanation i can think of is people who are aware Bale is suspended for the booking think he misses next match (this one) rather than the Europa 2nd leg Confused

Don't forget André Vilas Boas is a man of big games. Usually he is well prepared for the big games, and put their teams mentally strong...and win a lot of them.

Just look at stats, when their teams  are in shape, he have won ( specially in Portugal) almost every big games. And in Porugal, a team winning all classics and teams in form is difficult too.

And at the moment, Spurs are getting stronger, and stronger...

4.) it's about time we beat someone 'undeservedly' makes up for the countless pts we haven't woin when we have been the better side.

we need to stop giving away such poor goals like the 2nd, fair enough delivery was brilliant on the 1st but the 2nd was very average, we just won't get CL football in the coming seasons if we keep giving away soft goals like that from any ball tossed in.

could plan all week for Spurs.
OK, Spurs did play well on the day and probably should have won but they tired a little as you'd expect and concentration levels
wasn't at the usual levels (much like Manu vs Chelsea)
Overall seemed a spot on price although would agree that generally the LP price is way too short.
