Are we counting actual grounds or clubs?

For example i went to the old Filbert Street (sh*thole) but haven't been to Leicester's new ground yet. But i still count Leicester.
Report Coachbuster March 5, 2013 11:56 AM GMT

Millwall
Brighton
Swansea
Colchester
Leicester
Darlington (in the league at time ,but no longer)  so 5 really

By1999 I had visited 88 out of 92 then Barnsley had got better and moved away from playing teams coming up from the conference.
New experience Saturday at the Etihad, I did see Reds win 2-1 in  96/97 season at Maine Road, I will bare my arse on Barnsley Town Hall Steps if that's the score this time. City on Saturday are not gambling, it's another form of banking.
Report happyhatter March 5, 2013 12:47 PM GMT
76 but supporting Luton I get the chance to visit all the grounds on the way, then on the way down and hopefully back on the way up again?
Report Biscuit1979 March 5, 2013 12:50 PM GMT
I guess that's the only downside of supporting a big premier league club, you never get to do many new grounds. And when a new one does pop up, like Cardiff next season, the ticket demand will no doubt be huge.

Villa Park
St James Park (Exeter)

If you count clubs rather than specific grounds ala Biscuit system, i'm upto about 64. Italy, think it's 51. Spain 10.

"Travel broadens the mind" he says, painfully unaware that he has probably never stepped outside London.

Fine I'll play Dustin Hoffman with you for a minute.
Best- Nou Camp, you've obviously never been because that and Dortmund kick seven shades of sh!t out of the corporate pisshole nightmare that is Wembley.
Worst- Wildparkstadion Karlsruhe FC, or whatever Stirling Albion's ground is called, way out nowhere.

Travel does indeed broaden the mind you cockney w@nkstain.

The rules of the 92 Club say that you can't count grounds of clubs that have been out of the league since you went there - so that rules out Exeter and Carlisle for me.

Under those rules, I've been to 60 of the current 92 grounds. Including non-league and abroad, I must have been to between 120 and 150. And all these grounds don't exist any more:

Maine Road
Baseball Ground
Highbury
Feethams
The Dell
Springfield Park
Filbert Street

Done 57 of the current 92 but that includes 4 doubles (Highbury/Emirates, Roker/Stadium of light, Filbert/Walkers and Millmoor/Don Valley)

Also done 14 of the Blue Square premier... The stats reflect a club that has had a very bad 10 years!!

Best overall Highbury for a night game as an impressionable young kid.

Worst, any of the souless new identikit grounds out of town centres like Wycombe, Shrewsbury, Derby..

Totally agree there. Highbury was amazing. And I too detest these new stadia, with Shrewsbury being an epitome of them.

Certainly well over 50 here, but lost my defined list when moving years ago with dates, games, scores on it.  One day, I'll get round to re-compiling again.

Best and worst, I'm not sure off the top of my head.....But the most surreal was Odsal Stadium in the season or two after the Bradford fire.....Was like watching from outer space.
Report TRFC Kev March 5, 2013 4:34 PM GMT
In 2003 I had visited every (then) current League club, though not necessarily in their current stadium (loads have moved to new builds)

I've done pretty much all the old ones, before clubs moved, and of the current 92 I haven't been to

Man City (went to Maine Road)
Cardiff (done Ninian Park)
Brighton (done Goldstone & Withdean)
Burton
Rotherham (done Millmoor)
Fleetwood
Morecambe
Oxford (done Manor Ground)
Wimbledon (done Plough Lane)

Basically done them all except a few who have moved recently, or are relatively new to the League.

In total I've done 202 grounds, with quite a few foreign ones, and I've watched Tranmere at 136.

The last new one I did was Coventry's Ricoh Arena

The next one I'm doing is 3 weeks today - Estadio Azteca, Mexico City
Report brngtwt March 5, 2013 4:37 PM GMT
Wolves fans could have done them all in four seasons in the early eighties, and we're getting the chance to do it again.
Report TRFC Kev March 5, 2013 4:42 PM GMT
I'll vouch for Highbury too, especially night games. I saw some big games there. Sampdoria (CWC SF), Milan, League Cup semi.

Also mention for Celtic Park on a big European night.

I've done El Classico at Camp Nou, but not a patch on the San Siro.

Worst, I agree, these out of town grounds are a pain in the arse. Was at Colchester the other week. I actually enjoy my visit's there, but the ground is in the middle of nowhere.

The likes of Wycombe, Walsall and even Chester's new one all seem to be one road in and one road out, so can be a nightmare getting away from.
Report TRFC Kev March 5, 2013 4:43 PM GMT
And don't get me started on MK Dongs. Palstic club, plastic ground. Souless, in the middle of nowhere and unfinished, and we always lose.

I'm going again on Saturday week Sad
Report Captain Christy March 5, 2013 5:58 PM GMT
fishface, I'm not a cockernee you tit, obviously you being an Assnil 'fan' you would have little knowledge where the ground is anyway. I've been to the Camp Nou, nothing special, mind you I lived in Spain, natch. Highbury was nothing special at all, of the old grounds Villa Park is probably the best.

You're right wdidn, I've spent hours on the footballfans website recording the matches that I can remember that I've been to, and still got loads more to add. But it's also good for the quick match locator page if you're planning a trip away and want to see what games are on there, and looking at other fans contributions.  And I've never seen any verbal abuse between rival fans on the website.

I have been to MK DOns 4 times with my Dad 9Tranmere fan!) and they have lost every time, don't think they have even scored Cry I have just counted and I have been to 40 out of 92 following Ipswich & Tranmere!
