Surely a premiership side could snap him up if they're accepting £8.2m. they were talking £30m+ last summer. He's only 28.

He should at least give Norwich a try first. He can be Wes Hoolahan's back-up.

So how are Galatasary affording them? Surely he'd rather play in the UK. Half of the Turkish league games are decided before a ball is kicked.

I assume Galatasaray can only afford him by asking club sponsors to help out.

Surely this situation says something about the player. ManU could step in and take him for this money and match those wages easily. I would suggest that there may be some other reason/baggage to explain the lack of "big club" interest here..

His a class player and going to a class team. League isn't the best but nevertheless contains some huge derby games. CL will play a factor no doubt, as its helped GS get back on the European map. Melo and him in the middle of the park will be impressive.. if only they still had ARDA..

Galatasary are a big club in the same sense that Celtic and Rangers are big clubs. Bigger financial muscle in fact, but I think most would have expected this player to make a move to a big club within one of the more high profile european leagues.

id have to agree with your comment as the global climate undoubtedly plays a role within football too, however you can not call GS rich for semi-splashing out on one MAJOR signing when you look at the dealings made in the three other major leagues. this gaston ramirez cost Southampton, a newly promoted side, more than this.

in addition i do not rate the Portuguese league in the slightest, porto are a shadow of the team they once were and benifica/sporting and braga are not feared opponents to many other European teams.
