Lots of either bitter or clueless people being shown up tonight if they can't see or acknowledge that it was nothing more than an accidental handball that the officials ridiculously didn't see.

A bit ott don't you think?

Suso had a poor game today, there you go there's some criticism of a Liverpool player, happy now?

Report TexassportsagentBuzz January 6, 2013 11:47 PM GMT
Ok well done now Suarez, not todays controversy but his career on the whole. Is he a cheat?
Report cob316 January 6, 2013 11:51 PM GMT
You think I can convince you that he's not a cheat? Didn't think so , so I won't waste my time.
Report TexassportsagentBuzz January 6, 2013 11:55 PM GMT
that wasn't what I asked you cob but i'll make it a little easier for you. In your opinion is Luis Suarez a cheat?
Report charwell. January 7, 2013 12:00 AM GMT
No. Ball hit his hand. He never moved his hand to the ball.

Hmmmm looked like his ARM moved out to the ball to me? However, definitely instinctive, and cant fault Suarez this time, just the officials. Wouldn't label him a cheat for that....
Report Brooksielad January 7, 2013 12:08 PM GMT
call him a cheat for saving the ball on the line in the world cup. Don't call him a cheat for a ball ping ponging towards his hand.
Report GAZO January 7, 2013 12:16 PM GMT
nothing would have been said about the handball on the line if the penalty had been scored

That wasn't cheating either, ha got a red card, he got punished so not really cheating is it?

Should be a hero for that, it's something that has happened lots too, I remember 'salt of the earth' Phil Neville handling on the line in the last min of a Derby, Liverpool tucked away the pen, no big deal, but The Anti Suarez brigade, ASB's as they should be known as from now on will multiply anything involving King Luis x 100000

Report ccjefc January 7, 2013 12:51 PM GMT
I personally don't have any issue with what he did for Uruguay. The dying embers of a World Cup Quarter-Final and you are faced with either conceding the goal that deprives you of a semi-final spot or conceding a penalty which could still be missed.

A no-brainer for me and not really that different to a professional foul.
Report ccjefc January 7, 2013 12:54 PM GMT
Only just seen your last post, cob.

People keep mentioning Phil Neville. He handled on the line, was sent-off, Liverpool scored the penalty and won the game.

How does that compare to what happened yesterday?
Report Biscuit1979 January 7, 2013 12:56 PM GMT
Exactly. If Asamoah Gyan had scored the penalty, no one would even give a sh*t
Report what do i do now? January 7, 2013 1:08 PM GMT
All the criticism of Suarez is unfair. He's never done anything like it before.

Cob, you seem to be implying that if you get sent off for cheating then you have no longer cheated due to the punishment being issued.  I would suggest that it just means you are a cheat who has been caught compared to a cheat who gets away with it.

Report Outpost January 7, 2013 1:55 PM GMT
crouch did it intentionally not so long ago and it led to a goal and they all thought it was a great goal, but when the ball bounces up and accidently hits suarez on the hand he is called a cheat.

seems there's one set of rules for suarez and another set for everybody else.

must admit i thought that at the time. No way would the commentator have said 'cheat' if say Gerrard or Sturridge had done it.

It doesn't compare to yesterdays at all, I was referring to a post before mine which mentioned Suarez' handball in the world cup.

On the same point about Suarez' handball no one seems to notice that another Uruguay player flung himself at the ball with his arms too, he just wasn't good enough to keep it out, he should be branded a cheating , scum, blah blah as well as Suarez too!?!

I've only just heard / watched the itv commentary and thought it was well ott.  Very unusual for such an experienced commentator to use such an incendiary phrase.

Cob is right regarding most if not all of the above.

The Neville argument from ccefc is nonsense as Kuyt could easily not have scored!!
When Lucas clearly would have. It's just the outcome which had sidetracked people!
