Those who single Suarez out for this dont have a clue. It is up to the referee to spot these things, simple as that.

mansfield players said they would have done the same.
So would any striker.
The ball hit his hand accidentally anyway, whats the problem??

Oh yes,its Luiz Suarez.

The witchhunt goes on.

Sad so sad.
Report Outpost January 7, 2013 5:51 PM GMT
only people who know absolutely nothing about football will think that suarez cheated against mansfield.

everybody else saw the ball bounce up and hit his hand.

that's not cheating, that's accidental.

holding players in the penalty area is cheating.
try stamping that out before you start worrying about accidental handballs.
Report kincsem January 7, 2013 5:55 PM GMT
If Suarez took the ball in his hands and dived over the goal line rugby style Liverpool fans would say it is acceptable if the ref doesn't blow the whistle.
Report buddeliea January 7, 2013 6:02 PM GMT
its not acceptable, but its not the players job to referee a game.
Cheating goes on in Football at all levels, either accept it or stop watching.
Simple.
Report kincsem January 7, 2013 6:07 PM GMT
Why stop watching?  If I see a cheat I will call it.  And keep calling it until he is stopped.
Report JamDav1982 January 7, 2013 6:08 PM GMT
If that makes Suarez a cheat then virtually every player cheats every game unless they admit to every error the ref has made. It doesnt happen.

Those trying to make an exmaple of Suarez just make themselves look like complete mugs.

and referencing Diego Maradona's goal against England in 1986, Suarez said: "Mine is the real 'Hand Of God'. I made the save of the tournament."

While Maradona punched home a goal as Argentina beat England 2-1 in the 1986 World Cup quarter-finals, saying it had been scored "a little with the hand of God", Suarez reacted to push out a certain goal and then watched as Ghana missed the resultant penalty with the last kick of the extra time.

"Sometimes in training I play goalkeeper so it was worth it," the 23-year-old said.

"There was no alternative but for me to do that and when they missed the penalty I thought 'It is a miracle and we are alive in the tournament'," added the striker.[

Report buddeliea January 7, 2013 6:39 PM GMT
cheating is trying to gain an advantage whilst breaking the rules and getting away with it,suarez never did that yesterday,it was accidental hitting his hand.
Report donny osmond January 7, 2013 6:39 PM GMT
Cheating refers to an immoral way of achieving a goal. It is generally used for the breaking of rules to gain advantage in a competitive situation. Cheating is the getting of reward for ability by dishonest means. This broad definition will necessarily include acts of bribery, cronyism, sleaze, nepotism and any situation where individuals are given preference using inappropriate criteria.[Medical Education 1] The rules infringed may be explicit, or they may be from an unwritten code of conduct based on morality, ethics or custom, making the identification of cheating a subjective process. Cheating can refer specifically to marital infidelity. Someone who is known for cheating is referred to as a cheat in British English, and a cheater in American English. A "cheat" does not have to cheat all the time, but once faced with a challenge that they do actually want to win, they will go back to their cheating strategies
Report JamDav1982 January 7, 2013 6:40 PM GMT

None so hypocritical as football as football fans at times.
A game full of rule bending by players and a few high profile managers, game of few rules and less of a sport these days.

As for Suarez, would he get this kind of attention if he were English,or a Man Utd player,no,of course not.
Along with RVP and Aguero, this guy is a class above any other matchwinner in the prem, shame he is not a bag of sh1te and the manu fans would be able to deal with these things and move on.
