Yep, a LOT of idiots on this thread. I'd go further to say that no one has to put up with the abuse footballers get from brain-dead, over-weight fans in ill-fitting club shirts. Hooligans have had their day: it's time for families to take back football.

Do YOU think today is the first time he has been abused racially by opposition supporters on a football field?
So what did he do about it before today? |

Working in the rain is the same as monkey chants from a crowd directed at players on a pitch.....Only on the betfair forum....

my gut reaction is good on the lad - why put up with that sh!t - but would players and a team have the guts to do it in a competitive event!!!!
|
|
By:
Well done KPB.
Looking at the video it looked like the was ref was involved with the 'decision' to leave the pitch. |
|
By:
Well done too him/her but why was he/she wearing a sports bra?
|
|
By:
Van Persie was in the crowd, good job that ball never hit him, could have killed him
|
|

Only works in a friendly. Say for instance Suarez kicks off again in an EPL game, what will happen? If the player walks off he'll be instantly subbed or if the team come off Liverpool will get the 3pts.
Good on Boateng, but lets not pretend this incident will do any more than cause a talking point. |
|
By:
I think it will be more than a talking point, IF someone walks off due to racist chants in a high-profile game I'm very confident others will join their teammate in walking off the pitch (I definitely would anyway)
|
|
By:
No-one will walk off in a competitive game as they will risk undermining the ref and forfeiting the game.
|
|
By:
Good on Boateng, show up the racists.
Apparently, the majority of the crowd applauded the action to walk off. |
|
By:
I take it Betfair didn't have any markets on this match, since there haven't been any seething about voided bets etc.

be interesting when they play lazio.

Players walking off because a few meatheads call them names. This is only the start ,look forward to the days when players on 100k per week
walk off when someone scores an offside goal.Or when a two footed tackle goes unpunished. These pampered pooofs get worse. |
|
By:
Ah yes, an offside goal is almost as bad as racist abuse.
What worries me more is that some of the posters actually believe what they're saying and aren't just trolling. Although comparing it to working in the rain has to be probably one of the most moronic posts I have read on here. And I have read many! |
|
By:
Yes tony, if the betfair forum was a fair representation of the 'man on the street' I'd say we're doomed

OK i'll bite, why is it moronic, plz enlighten me.

No-one will walk off in a competitive game as they will risk undermining the ref and forfeiting the game. Roberto Carlos walked off the pitch in a Russian league game when a fan chucked a banana at him. Not sure what happened as there were only a few minutes left in the game. |

Berto, His job is to play football. He wasnt abused by other players he was abused by the crowd. That's like working in the rain. What if he got racist abuse from the crowd whilst playing football in the rain? Would he then be within his rights to walk off? |

no bite 4 u biscuit.

Working in the rain

I applaud KPB for making a stance as he and his team mates have the right to do their jobs without having to put up with abuse from the morons of society. But, he should not have kicked the ball in to the crowd - he could have killed someone, or so Ferguson says.

yeah ok why is it ridiculous you are comparing a group of white men shouting racist abuse and making monkey noises at a black player to working outside in the rain? Your point is ridiculous because i can't see how on earth you've made the comparison. Perhaps you could explain how the two situations are in any way comparable? |
|
By:
Seriously? You need this explained to you? What are you 8?
And here I thought you were taking the pi$$ but you're actually just stupid. I made 2 posts, I suggest that you read both of them slowly, maybe even get a grownup to read it with you to help with the parts you don't fully understand. |
|
By:
Another closet racist falling over himself to decry anybody who doesn't put up with racist abuse aimed at them. Working in the rain!
ffs you half-wit! |
|
By:
closet racist? Yoiu call me a halfwitt yet you have clearly failed to grasp the concept of reading and comprehending what it is that you have just read.
powerfan Quotes from this thread regarding Spain as an example - "Their supporters are banned from all games for 2 yrs. All home games r played in closed stadiums." "Handing out a small, slap on the wrist fine to an FA is meaningless. Any/All FA's can't control the crowd...........An empty stadium sends a message loud and clear to all not just the supporters of the punished team." According to you, I'm a closet racist because I'd prefer a national team to have their supporters punished and banned from all stadia for a 2 yr period. This should not be interpreted as Zero Tolerance to racism on my part because it will make you look like the f'ken idiot that you are. |
|
By:
Alf Garnett, you are a half-wit because of the comparison to playing in the rain...nice back-tracking though
