I cant believe Arsenal, matched at 1.46 on here, I know they arnt playing that well but vs a 4th division team.
Report flannybhoy. December 11, 2012 6:48 PM GMT
Surely has to be Arsenal also like look of overs ( surprisingly ) in Reading game at 11/10 imho good luck all

I just can't bring myself to like arsenal at 1.39 away to anyone at the moment. especially before the team's announced.

Good start in both my bets another goal or two in reading game will do nicely
Report comicbookguy December 11, 2012 8:06 PM GMT
Arsenal 1.8 if your mad , think its time for Wenger to go before he ends up looking stupid. Roma looked a lot better bet to me at 8/15 but I put Arsenal in for a double maybe been a mistake.
Report chasemojo December 11, 2012 8:10 PM GMT
POOR GUY.

The best bet of the night has already settled.....PSG TO WIN @ 1.9!

There is more to life than footy in England....
Report comicbookguy December 11, 2012 8:14 PM GMT
Easy to say this now but 2/5 was never value, Wenger always resting players as saying they are wrecked. Bradford with a great home record especially in cups, Wenger saying this cup is not worth winning. Wish I had kept my powder dry, thought class might carry them though.
Report flannybhoy. December 11, 2012 8:15 PM GMT
Excellent 1 more in reading game will do very nicely
Report marychain1 December 11, 2012 8:18 PM GMT
This was a shocking bet, whatever the outcome. A team that is so good in the air is always going to be likely to create chances against a team as susceptible as Arsenal to balls into the box.
Report Banwana December 11, 2012 8:18 PM GMT
Arsenal at bigger than evens = time to bet like men.  Banks are never to be trusted anyway Laugh
Report flannybhoy. December 11, 2012 8:23 PM GMT
Agree Banwana at those odds surely the gunners are woth betting im diving in ! Well my tenner is diving in (Im not a big hitter )
Report marychain1 December 11, 2012 8:25 PM GMT
Arsenal to qualify in extra time looks like a decent bet from here @ 7.6. That's where I'd be sticking your tenner if I was you.

Some serious after timing on here, where were you all
with your 'opinion' before the goal?
Report marychain1 December 11, 2012 8:57 PM GMT
You may think it is aftertiming, but If I'd have seen this fred before the goal, or indeed before the game, I would have given you the same opinion. As it was I backed Bradford, and also laid Villa at 1.35.

Unlike you lot who have just looked at Division 2 v Premier League and automatically backed the favourites, I have actually seen Bradford play. Once this season, and three times last season. I therefore had a passing knowlege, and knew that the way they would play, based around Hanson, who is a danger in the sort of Kevin Davies/Grant Holt style that Arsenal hate playing against, could possibly cause them problems.

Face it, you have bet on something you didn't know about at a very short price, thinking it was free money, and had your pants pulled down. Now you're falling back on that tired old "aftertimers" shout.
Report flannybhoy. December 11, 2012 9:13 PM GMT
I cant believe Arsenal are going to lose it , only got a tenner on it so no major loss as it stands , but to be fair MC does make a good point re betting against a team that I havent seen . I dont do aftertimers shouts though and fair play to all who layed Arsenal

I respect you ken, (and you tobes) and think you are one (or two) of the people on here that talks a lot of sense generally. I agree with a lot of what you both have to say about value and betting theory in general. But I disagreed with this bet. But I havent gone in with smileys Laugh or called anyone a mug, so don't get defensive. We all have our shockers after all! I just think that Arsenal, with their flappy keeper, propensity to concede from balls into the box and their proven lack of the sort of battling qualities needed for a match like this were a pretty dodgy looking shortie. They would have to be winning this about 80% of the time to make it profitable, and much more to make it bet of the night, surely?

A lot of the time you have to consider the way teams will play, its not just about league tables. If it had been Crewe v Arsenal tonight, I'm sure Arsenal would have been longer (with Crewe being a division higher than Bradford and in good form) but in fact Crewe's style of play would suit Arsenal down to the ground. Crewe could never out-football Arsenal, but it is possible  to outbattle them, and Bradford did have a puncher's chance with their rigid formation, solid defence and decent target man.

Well I applaud kenilworth for posting his bet so honestly and forthrightly, to often he posts ambiguously, so as not to open himself up to any form of criticism. So he got it wrong and his shorts and pants were well and truly pulled down in front of class, and we all got the chance to laugh at his tiny weaner, big deal Laugh. Respect.
