I think players like Teddy Sheringham and Denis Irwin would be w*nked about far more if they were a bit more exotic, played in Serie A etc. Technically superb players.

Ruud was a mug player who in all his years at Man utd never scored outside the box.

He was like the kid at School who waited in the goal line to tap in from 2 yards.

Better luck next time Dawson my old son.

Francesco totti

Agree, had the pleasure to watch him for a full season when living in Rome. All I can say he is up there with the best I ever seen, and possibly even better than my favourite ever Bergkamp. When people talk about best of his generation Zidane is first on mosts lips, but Totti could do what Zidane did and more on top. I can't think of any player that plays the game with the same flair and imagination, just imagine how much better his stats would have been if he went to play with great players. Example, imagine a Ronaldo or Messi on the end of a pass like this

More embarrassingly sad than funny. Keown looked like he was auditioning for planet of the apes.

haha Ramon very good. Anyway, I guess my love for him will always be up there as I witnessed the birth of the 4-6-0 and believe me this was not Craig Levein style, it was just beautiful and he played like an enigma, that position was invented for him.

Seriously?

I don't know how old you are, but even in the last 15-20 years the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, fat Ronaldo, Romario, Batistuta and van Basten were all considerably better than RVN
