I always thought Eider Gudjohnsen was a really good player that never got the credit he deserved.

Depends on who is doing the original rating i suppose
Hagi is a good call i think as never got much credit in Britain, though highly regarded elsewhere .UK Media expect all great players to come from 'big' countries. ITV Pundits thinking his goal v Colombia in 1994 was a fluke They would not have thought that if Romario had scored the goal (not that he would have been able to anyway) |

Paul Merson never gets much credit, one of the best dozen or so english players of the last 30 years IMO

Tobe the guy did it so many times it was not a fluke. Greatest collection of strikes from distance are below.
Hagi was a master http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mTnWfbXk28 Watch and enjoy. |

Luis Enrique was a class act for me.
He seems to have slipped out of a lot of people minds. |

Hagi and stoichkov were massive names in world football, only by saying you think they were has good as messi ple Diego are the underrated IMO
Though of alongside platini gullet zidane and the likes again IMO Underrated players nigel clough, stan collymore, john Robertson Iain mccoughlac. Garry birtles. All great forest and county players who I imagine not too highly thought of outside Nottingham |

andy reid deano?

I agree Stan the man was class. Stevie C got shot of him because he thought he was a bad influence.
By:
Slightly but Not fulfilled his potential, massive tallent fitness and injuries preventing him from achieving at the top level
By:
john robertson used to get crosses in he had no right to, great tricky little player.
By:
Michael Laudrup one of the all time greats.
when he had the ball it was like time had somehow slowed down. As for Collymore, certainly not under rated by himself. But never fulfilled his potential which is a slightly different topic. |
By:
djemba djemba way underrated
By:
so gud they named him twice
By:
Your right.Collymore wasn't underated.

You won't find many people with a better montage of goals on YouTube than stan collymore
By:
Agree dsmith,he had every attribute.
Was playing at Leicester when he should have been at the peak of his career tho. wether that was down to his fragile attitude or not... more of a wasted talent than under rated for me. |
By:
Not sure he was under-rated, more of an unfulfilled talent.
By:
Sorry, just seen brngtwt made the same point.
By:
Yes quite probably that is more like it, and maybe he only had maybe 5/6 seasons at the top. I might be flattering him slightly by making a comparison with theory Henry, but in terms of talent then I would say their difference is not the miles difference they have in terms of rate and status.

This will be controversial, and I'm not saying he's the most under-rated ever but I don't think Frank Lampard gets the credit he deserves. A goal every three games for Chelsea, multiple major trophies and nearing 100 England caps.
It's changed now of course but Xavi used to be under-rated. He's 32 but only seems to have been on many people's radar for the last 4 years of his career. |
