And again, my credit card company didn't do that when someone bought a meal in middle America at some restaurant I'd never heard of.

think the lesson is not to get too dependent on our cards when out and about. should really have had more than the £5 in my wallet

what p1sses me off more than getting cards blocked is how the technology exists to credit an account instantly , but yet , when it comes to making a withdrawal , it takes so many working days ?? why can't withdrawals credit instantly too ?? ffs

When I moved to Spain I had all sorts of problems with credit cards getting rejected all over the place. Even now there's so many places that just say its not going through because they actually want the cash rather than having to pay the VISA charges. I haven't used a credit card in I would say more than 5 years...in fact they've probably all expired Laugh I do have a debit card and generally just withdraw cash from a machine as and when. When I used c cards it did actually begin to feel it was an intrusion on privacy when a company knew where you were and when most of your life. Probably nothing sinister in it but I remember once they phoned me for a security check and I had to tell them the last 3 times I had used the card, I gave them the answer and the woman on the phone said "you've been travelling a bit" and I thought why the f should she know my movements Angry
