Agreed it's too much for him .... it looks as if Martin O'Neill is desperate for a striker who is good in the air and he likes to buy British which doesn't leave him a big pool of players to choose from

Fletcher is well worth the 12m anyway imo, scored the most headed goals in the league last year. any team with decent wingers will be laughing
12 goals for a quite frankly **** team was an impressive haul considering the awful service

Have to agree, think he is worth the 12 million and as aaron says the mugs will come back with more..Isn't that ellis short guy a billionaire in which his wealth just keeps growing
Martin will go begging to him in the morning for more moneyyyyyyyyyyyys

12m for a fairly decent premier league striker isn't really that over priced is it?
Southampton paid 7m for Jay Rodriguez and he's never played top flight football in his life.

Another very interesting metric – this one displays a goalscorer’s ability to put away the easier chances. Frank Lampard leads the way here with 92% however Lampard takes Chelsea’s penalties as does Wayne Rooney for Manchester United. The real impressive striker here is Steven Fletcher from Wolves who is converting 70% of his easier chances. A sure target for Premier League clubs this summer – Fletcher has shown that he will put the ball in the back of the net if give the chance. Luis Suarez once again comes bottom here – missed a penalty and so many clear chances – he should really improve next season if Liverpool have any hopes of coming back into the top four.

Saints seem to be making a habit of this, they had a 6m bid for Butland turned down and he's never even played championship.

In a half decent team Fletcher will get 20 goals in a season, and could be the difference between 18th and 13th. How much is that worth ? £13 million gets him, take Ward as well and we`ll make it £12mill

Think we get 10% of any profit Wolves make on him, so 10% of anything above about 7 mil. Bit ironic he scored more headed goals than anyone else last season as when he was with us that was the weakest part of his game. He was also very one footed. As for Jay Rod the PL season just came a bit too soon for him. He featured a little in the season before, mainly in the Carling Cup games but wasn't used after we were promoted. But one thing's for sure - he's worth 7 mil of anyone's money.

when wolves paid 7 million for Fletcher everyone said exactly the same. Not worth it. the price tag is so high now primarily because Wolves don't need the money as such. he has three years on his contract he is only 25. the only problem with the price tag in my view is he missed a lot of games at Wolves with niggling injury.

not sure about that Clacker, Jarvis for all his ability lacks self confidence in my view. I Would jump at 10 mill for Jarvis, Fletch would be cheap at 10mill.
