Agreed it's too much for him .... it looks as if Martin O'Neill is desperate for a striker who is good in the air and he likes to buy British which doesn't leave him a big pool of players to choose from Sad

They will rue the day that they turned down that offer, it's massive compared to his ability.

Fletcher is well worth the 12m anyway imo, scored the most headed goals in the league last year. any team with decent wingers will be laughing

12 goals for a quite frankly **** team was an impressive haul considering the awful service

12m for a fairly decent premier league striker isn't really that over priced is it?

Southampton paid 7m for Jay Rodriguez and he's never played top flight football in his life.

Clear Cut Chance (CCC) Conversion

Another very interesting metric – this one displays a goalscorer’s ability to put away the easier chances. Frank Lampard leads the way here with 92% however Lampard takes Chelsea’s penalties as does Wayne Rooney for Manchester United. The real impressive striker here is Steven Fletcher from Wolves who is converting 70% of his easier chances. A sure target for Premier League clubs this summer – Fletcher has shown that he will put the ball in the back of the net if give the chance. Luis Suarez once again comes bottom here – missed a penalty and so many clear chances – he should really improve next season if Liverpool have any hopes of coming back into the top four.

Southampton paid 7m for Jay Rodriguez and he's never played top flight football in his life.

Saints seem to be making a habit of this, they had a 6m bid for Butland turned down and he's never even played championship.
