I think they will continue to be over rated, along with Chelsea,
and are prime sells on the points spreads IMO.

depends if you are using last season as a yardstick.

it would be foolish to imo

A potentially significant piece of news, not concerning this game but perhaps one of the teams in it. Liverpool are playing a friendly against Bayer Leverkusen today, but have not included Manchester City target Daniel Agger in their line-up.

No one would want to buy those 2 though.

Agger is your best defender.

Didn't you think it was more significant that he played on Thurs and cup tied himself for CL?
By:
cob316
When: 12 Aug 12 16:23
ok, apparently that rule is a grey area and he may not be cup tied, even though the comms on Thurs said he would be!

It's not a grey area. The rule is you can't play in the same European competition for another club. He's free to play in the Champions League.

aint going through this again.

skrtel is the better defensive player of the two

No way Jose.

I saw you a fair few times last season and Agger is about the best centre half in the league for my money.

I'll need to see an official rule on this to be sure now, I've already got burned taking the comms word for it the other day.

I believe that's false EMG.

You can play in the Europa League qualifiers for one team, and the Europa League 'proper' for another.

Nah Solano, with the authority he spoke with in assuring me its not a grey area and very much black and white then i would assume he is correct otherwise he'd be a bit of a plank.

Bottom paragraph.

GI - you are alone in thinking Skirtel is better than Agger amongst us Reds.

If Agger stays and we buy a quality wide player we can challenge for 4th. If Agger goes and we don't sign a pacey wide player then 5th o 6th is more realistic.

But for 100% sure we will be better than last year.

I don't know about qualifiers EL rule.

But I know playing in EL doesn't disqualify you from playing Champions League anymore. There was a player last season who did it. I can't rememeber his name though. Sad

You are correct on that score.

Could it be a bit of a grey area?Wink

Mr E a very good judge of a defender IMO.

I expect L'pool to do better than last season,
but not by as much sa some people think. They
are invariably over rated and I don't expect
them to be this season also. Different manager,
but same players more or less.

Same players more or less? Lucas missed most of the season with injury. Suarez missed a quarter of the season with bans. Borini and Allen and a completely different formation mean we will be very, very different this season IMO. I'm not saying I am positive we will do better, but things will certainly be very different.

Adam and Henderson played regularly and Carroll played a fair bit.  I expect those three to figure hardly at all.

Who have they signed ? I remember this time last season, what 'pool
were going to do under Dalglish and it seems there are similar
expectations now but I don't see them having a better squad, therefore
around 55 points in my estimation. GL though.

I predict plenty of possession and plenty of draws for Liverpool and 6-8th as a finishing position.

Early days but Rodgers is keeping up his stats from other clubs. Lots of possession and plenty of draws.
Will it continue? Are Liverpool supporters happy with the start made (not the lack of wins obviously but the possession football being played)
Has anyone formed the early opinion that Allen plays far too many sideways and backwards 5 yard passes, when more attacking options are on, to somewhat distort his opta stats? Wink

Have to they have started off quite poorly, and would expect them to struggle to actually win the title from this  , but third place looks a minimum

probably be top by december
