I used a debit card to deposit money for the last year or so. Ended up about £600 down. Recently, I lost my card so got a new one and started depositing money with that into my Betfair account. I ended up a couple of hundred pounds up and the other day decided to withdraw it. Betfair wouldn't let me do it. Apparently they've got an anti-fraud measure which means you can only withdraw money on cards up to the amount you've deposited. Because I can't withdraw money on my old card - it is no longer - active - I've got money in my Betfair account which I can't withdraw.
You have to ring them, there is no other option. I've had the same problem and also the Mastercard problem (this is common) but you HAVE to ring them. It will only take 5 mins BTW.

this is true and a pain in the arse but i believe its some kind of FSA regulation, deactivate your card and ask for the money by electronic payment, doesnt cure the problem long term but

Its not a big problem so don't worry. i had this issue also. it's just a safety mechanism only affecting accounts with more than one card registered to them. It is done to prevent someone else registering their card onto your account and then depositing all your hard won funds into their bank. So whenever you register a new card you cannot withdraw more than you have deposited from the new card.
If you ring Betfair they will remove your old card from the account and you can then withdraw as much as you have in your Betfair account to your new card.
I asked a similar question on the forum about 6 months ago and got about 30 replys, none of which were of any real help.
