You must accept that you will lose at times and that can't affect how you go about betting long term |
|
By:
Bob how did you learn about martingale?
|
|
By:
I think my point is proved, you'd rather spend the evening getting into silly squabbles, badgering people to post bets, placing daft bets yourself and then complaining when they lose than make any progress developing your knowledge/skills. The people who are making profit now didn't get where they are like this.
Not a problem, it just means you bet for fun like most bf users and pay for the privilege. |

Bob - do you remember that night when you were given a link to a betting calculator to work out odds and told how to work to a 100% book and you were given advice to go away and work at pricing up games so that in time you'd have a good idea at what the match odds should be, which would enable you to spot value and bet accordingly. That was months ago now......how is that going for you?
|
|
By:
And have you priced up any games since?
The cricket was on when England were batting and then when it was lunch there, the tennis went on and stayed on for the rest of the day. Why's that? |
|
By:
i'll take that as a no then
|
|
By:
why did you ask him if he watched cricket and tennis at work today?
|
|
By:
as soon as you start making big money you can work from home and have 20 tvs with all different sports on as you work
![]() then there will be no need to be jealous ![]() |

By:
How did the pricing up of the games go, Paul?
Were you getting closer to the Betfair SPs as you went along? Do you feel like it's helped you? |

Overpriced at what price?
Why did you believe it was overpriced? What was the situation like? Why did you think he would win? Was there any point when you stopped believing he would win? Could you have cut your loss? Could you have waited until later into the game to bet? What percentage of your bankroll is £200? Do you think you overstaked on a single bet because you thought it was easy money? Can you afford to lose £200 daily? If not I wouldn't be staking it on one event without a point where I cut my losses. |

So you've not improved whatsoever. I find that odd. Even a monkey could improve with a bit of practice, especially considering that you're starting effectively from scratch.
Do you think that you're overstaking? Is there a reason that you don't decrease your bet size until you find some sort of strategy that you're comfortable with? |

I don't have a problem bob...I was trying to help you. Think about the answer to those questions regarding your Nadal bet...find out where the problem lies...weed the problems out of your bets.
|
|
By:
Not sure how you found that post threatening or 'having a go' at you, it's merely a post containing 10 simple questions. If you can come up with decent answers for all of them then obviously it was a good bet. Do you really want to win money? Or do you just gamble for the highs and lows...

Rob - just cos Nadal lost doesn't mean i didn't capture value Not sure this was ever an issue (I was watching the football, so couldn't comment either way), but you seem to have overlooked both questions that I asked you. I'll try again: Do you think that you're overstaking? Is there a reason that you don't decrease your bet size until you find some sort of strategy that you're comfortable with? |
|

Have you tried other strategies bob?

Bizzo - do your bosses not mind you watching sport on the telly all day? I don't sit there watching sport all day. It's an advertising agency, so it's a pretty relaxed atmosphere and place of work, the tvs (4 of them) in our studio are always on, be it SSN, Jeremy kyle, loose women or random sport on tv, there's always something on. |
|
By:
I've tried my own stuff here and there, but it's very hard to find a consistent winning formula,so it's kind of an ongoing project for me at the moment.

yes of course i overstake. i'm a martingaler. because i've been betting 3-5 years and still no better strategy. So...you know that your "strategy" is rubbish, you know you wager too much and you've learnt nothing in 5 years? Yet you persist. I'd seek help for your gambling addiction. I'm not joking by the way. |
|
By:
Sorry Cat, I meant as long as you get good value to win - but lose, the other side is winning with bad value and so it kind of levels itself out.

Do you have £100k+ a year to lose Bob?
|

By:
I think you're actually a big player on here who just so happens to be a bigger fisherman.

bob-vegas
hmm but why should i seek help and all you lot carry on? shouldn't you seek help when loss figure for year reached £100k+ ? Because I'm not the one moaning about reading other peoples' wins and doing my monthly wages in a few bets. Nah, I can afford it and don't feel any compulsion to bet. |

at least i'm honest Rop.
Rob - you made your fortune through betfair right? doing exactly what you do to this day in terms of strategy? No you're not. You claim to come in peace, just want to talk about betting etc etc, but then are spiteful and abusive towards anyone who doesn't dance to your tune and use this place as a chat room to talk about lasses you think are fit and discuss Bhoys' latest hangover. Don't remember saying that. The bit about strategy is true, yes, I haven't really changed my approach too much in the last few years. If you've learnt nothing in 5 years, why not accept you'll never make it pay and just have a few fun bets for a tenner here and there? Are you that hooked? |
|

meaning Im not bob?

You would...what do you want a screen shot of my incoming calls |

bob-vegas 30 Jun 12 19:26
hmm but why should i seek help and all you lot carry on? Because you're thousands down and have admitted you know no way to win, so if you carry on you will end up even more down surely. Do you have any more money to lose? Do you own your own place? |
|
By:
'telling us' or 'telling you' or do you now speak for everyone and know personally no-one in the history of bf has had a call from them....
Have you ever tried trading bob, building small profits to start? or do you not have the patients? |
