Gough is the thickest person ive heard on radio ever
|
|
By:
Gough is ok, unlike Ronnie dimrani, he knows what he's talking about when it comes to football and doesn't bluff, he's no Andy Gray or Gabriel Marcotti though.
Brazil et Rani chap are light hearted fluff for early morning easy listening..you can tune in for 10mins in e.g. the shower or wanking with no probs. get a girl r0y, I bet you've got the strongest right arm in Guildford![]() |

Durham should remember people listen to the drive time show "DESPITE" him and not "BECAUSE" of him
He is an arrogant orrible clueless ginger cuunt, who trips over his own bullshiiting contradictions every day in an attempt to "prove himself right" You constantly get in the style of Vickie Pollard " am I right " ... "am I right " A total cuunt and the reason i gave up listening on the way home and I go back as far as Tom Whatt , Jumpers For Goalpoasts Ray Houghton , another arrogant cuuunt constantly spouting " You've never played the game " , fukkin hate the plastic Scottish / Irish / Scouce midget Richard Keys , quite possibly the smuggest arse hole on the planet and a TERRIBLE radio presenter simply fukkin awful Gray I can handle but the sickophantic laughing and back slapping makes me want to vomit Hawksby and jacobs are top drawer imo , love Brazil and his puppy Irani , not everyones fav bloke but comes across as a guy you'd have a drink with The people who run the station could do much better dropping the 3 twaats above and bring back Wrighty , Goughie is ok , D Kelly is decent , Brian Moore talks lore sence that ANY ex player of any sport I have ever listened to I listen to it every week day but some total cuuunts on there and Durham is by miles the worst , a voice i'd like to punch ![]() |

MOTD gets stick left right and center but given is mandate it does the job perfectly. Like I say, day in day out...hour in hour out they have to talk sport. Eventful days and quiet days. They do it well. 5 live on average are better but given they have to fill far less time Talksport or superior. Unless you're tuning in for 10 hours at a time, in which case the problem is with you, they offer a fantastic service. Over...and out. ![]() |

He is a div for sure.
I dont know what his sporting background is but he knows **** all. I particularly remember one time he had a pop at SA for not going for a win in a rain affected match when they were up in the series. As it happened I was on the draw at 10-1 as I saw the weather forecast but he was most indignant and critical of SA when they never really had a chance. I knew then he didn't have a clue. I prefer 5 live |
|
By:
The other week when they were covering the West Ham game,Collymore described Mark Noble as the glue that knits the side together .
|
|
By:
As a bloke whose entire remit is to wind up and push the buttons hard enough of none too bright footballl fans to the extent they feel compelled to ring up @ 50p per minute plus charges or whatever it is, Durham must be the station bosses blue eyed boy.
With the exceptions of Paul Hawskbee and Danny Kelly, the station seems to head hunt the biggest dikcheads in the business. The two former cricketers are just inept, especially Irani, but the likes of Houghton, Collymore, Keys, Goldstein, Cundy and especially Brazil come across as not just crap broadcasters totally lacking in intellect and substance, but absolute tozzers too. |
|
By:
Houghton 'have you played the game' and irani just wind me up.
|
|
By:
Houghton is one of those people who surely if their on air persona is how they are in real life (and let's face it, he doesn't strike you as having enough between the ears to be on some sort of wind up), you'd have thought he'd get punched quite often.

I had to suffer him playing for Reading, all be it at the end of his career but he was one of the worst players ever to pull on the hoops. Mick Gooding was tens times the player.
Always find people that play for a different nation very insincere |
|
By:
Tbf, as a player he was pretty good for Villa when I used to go fairly regularly, neat and tidy and kept possession well. Could do with him now, but he always seemed to be rather pleased with himself. As you say, the "Have you played the game?" argument really grates.

Sonko, did you ever see Robin Friday play? Ive just read his biography just wondered if he was as good as they say?

I quite enjoy Durham's on air trolling, sometimes it gets a bit boring when it's a slow news day but other times some of the stuff he comes out with is brilliant LOL material. And then he tells you he's thinking logical.
![]() I've thought about ringing him up when he's on one of his mad trolls and agreeing with everything he says but to the extreme of ridiculousness. |
|
By:
I thought it was an good book i just didnt think the book delved further enough into his life and the legendary stories that are folklore were just casually dropped in there rather than making a big deal out of them.
Love what he did to big nosed Lawro. Some of the older reading fans ive spoke said he was brilliant on his day. |

Let's be honest it's white van man radio isn't it???
People deserve Durham & Gough because they are stupid enough to a) listen and b) fall for his bait and ring in. Cundy is another one I can't stand and managed to preside over the worst piece of radio I have ever heard... He sat in for Durham one afternoon on what must have been the slowest sportsnews day ever, he decided to pretend it was 1995 for an hour and then had people ring and text their predictions for 1996. As it turns out it's actually quite easy to predict the future when you've lived it, who'd have f***ing guessed it??? I like H & J, Keys & Gray are ok in short doses, Goldstein is ok when not paired with Cundy, Collymore & Saggs are ok and Danny Kelly is head and shoulders above all others. I'm wishing they'd bring back Tommy Boyd and Caesar the Geezer!!!! |
|
By:
wasn't it ceaser the geezer who got sacked from capital sports for pushing the wenger rumour?
|
|
By:
tbf to durham he is fairly decent on weekends

I know Caesar the Geezer got the boot from TS way back when it was Talk Radio UK... Never heard of Capital Sports???
|

By:
it was an am station of capital radio.

Don't usually listen to Durham and Gough, its all a bit cartoon radio. However i do like Andy Goldstein's Sports Bar that's on a bit later.

Keyes should be sent to Hartlepool, they would prove he's a lightweight.
|
|
By:
You're not missing much Tangeboom, about 50 minutes of every hour is adverts now. Apart from Collymore and Saggers going at it on the odd occasion I find it's very poor radio now.
Porky wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but at least he was a good listen at times. where did porky go to,surely hes still on radio??????????? |

Anyone listening right now? He reckons the CL is a farce because Chelsea are out!

What a clown 0 says stuff like that just to get a reaction answer is not to listen or feed him
|
|
By:
I have never rung in, simply because i know he is a wind up, but he just shows how desperate the human race can become to try and get attention
|
|
By:
He goes ott to provoke a reaction of course but his basic point is interesting. Chelsea went out to shakhtar with the same points overall, the same points in the head to head and a superior goal difference. He simply thought the relevance of scoring more away head to head goals was less important than overall goal difference which is a fair point to raise.

Danny Kelly is good.
Hawksbee and Jacobs quite funny imo (but not if Hawksbee is off cos Jacobs is only funny as a moaner and can't really do the witty stuff that well) Goldstein - Cockney plastic rag. Not funny enough to be a comedy man. Doesn't know enough about sport to be a sports presenter. Cundy - thick Gough - very thick Irani - monumental to$$er. Has to be one of the top five ar$elickers in Britain and a top class bull$hit merchant Brazil - comes across as a total to$$er but I quite like him on the radio Mark Saggers - knows absolutely feck all. Awful journalist whose opinion is formed from newspaper headlines and cliches Collymore - alright for an ex pro. Still can talk $hite though. Houghton - $hite. Definaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaately. Keys and Gray - Top 3 ar£elickers. So far up the anus of any ex pro who will speak to them and join in the tedious "we are top, top football men with 'banter'" schtick. That they are such big mates with footballing intelligentsia like Wilkins and Reid says it all. Awful journalism. Durham used to be good years ago when he did a European football show with Marcotti and Balague before they were well nown. He knew his stuff and it was decent listening. Every time I hear him now he is just an ABC, by the book 'shock jock' merchant. Not for me. Bring back Porky Parry. Brilliant fisherman. |
|
By:
Listen to how many times you can sport Ronnie Irani trying to pass off something he has just read in the newspaper as his own knowledge.
"Er, the thing about Accrington Stanley, I think, if I remember, have got a goal difference of -7 and have scored something like 23 away goals this season, or something like that." What a **** that bloke is. |
