funny enough ireland have gotten the better of england a fair few times recently. your comment would actually suggest u think england are good? they arent, as a football team, they are awful and this is a very large nation with a lot of money who apparently have many world class players? like roy keane once said, who are they ? gerard, henderson, carroll, lord almighty, bar rooney and cole the team are distinctly average. the whole nation thinks theyre gonna win the euros and wc every 4 years, its laughable. the irish nation are just delighted to go to a tournament, of course there is disappointment after a match like tonight but they were 10/1 for a start, feckin 10/1. the players we have are poor at best, bar shea and dunne and they are ancient at this stage. |

buses, this idea that every Englishman thinks we are going to win every tournament and have a wealth of world class players is simply a nonsense - mainly invented by jealous home nations supporters.
Of course we enjoy competing in the tournaments and get swept up in the excitement - that's part of being a football supporter! However, you'd be very hard pushed to find someone here that thinks that a) we are a particularly good team and b) have a reasonable chance of winning this, or any other tournament. |

i don't know, have never spoken to, or never seen an english person who thinks they have any chance of winning it. at full strength they're maybe 6th,7th best side in europe so 1/4's is their level at best 1/4's at a world cup is a massive over achievement for england |

gerards comments after the match were laughable 'with all due respect sweden arent france', good lord. england have never, NEVER gotten the better of sweden in a competitive match, ever and yet he comes out with this rubbish and disrespect. itv were the same trying the blame the ref. |

sweden are sh1t tho and it's not being cocky in there opening game i thought they were dreadful. I think anything other than a win would be a bad result, not that england are a great side because we are not, i just think sweden are that poor
