never write off ze germans but their current price is less value than englands, indeed i might prefer snapping up greek debt rather than putting money on germany

Boateng - looked hopeless at City
Mertesacker - turns about as quick as a cross channel ferry Schweinsteiger - been carrying an injury for most of the season and hasn't played in their recent friendlies Muller - scored in the CL final but has been out of form since xmas Gomez - needs at least 5 chances to score Probably still make the final though!! |

i think german are overrated
|
|

Mertesacker won't start. Hommels and Badstuber will.
Lahm - best full back in the world. Ozil - one of the world's top creative midfielders. Podolski & Klose - proven tournament performers. Neuer - arguably world's best keeper right now. Schweinsteiger & Khederia - great defensive midfield partnership. I agree that 3/1 isn't value but I have them down as winners all day long. |

Interestingly enough the sound judges have this German squad down as the best in decades. Have a look at the squad from the last world cup and see how much better it is.

They are very good, but can't see how they are on the same level as Spain or how they are much better than Holland
|
|
By:
...and I've not even mentioned the young players like Gotze, Kroos, Reus and Schuerrle. This squad has serious depth.

more depth than Linda Lovelace, mate

The thing about the germans is that you just know they'll grind out results even if they don't perform. They'll make it in to the knock out stages for sure and at that stage it's all about calm heads and patience...
They may not be able to out-play a Holland or Spain for example but they could easily take anyone to extra time and penalties so if they make it beyond the group stages, you're gonna be sweating big time if you've layed them from the start. I'd have them level with Holland myself as 2nd favs behind Spain but you're right... they are pretty hyped. Would still take a brave man to lay them at 4.4 though... |

I will be bumping this thread after the mighty germans win the euros
|

By:
This is the most gifted Germany side since 1996 but also with the weakest winning mentality.
They do not have enough confidence and winning mentality to play in big matches. |
|
By:
I wish everyone who thinks Gomez is shyte would put their money where their mouths are and get laying him for top scorer. I've got thousands tied up on him and I want to back back at 14/1+

What are you basing this on curious8?

They have a chance, but that doesnt stop the 3/1 or 4.4 being ridiculously bad value. You could get Spain at 10/3 at the weekend, which made Germany Favs. That's just wrong. Germany could well win, but they should be 11/2 and i'll be saying the same even if they run out winners. Plenty of people like Germany this year, but if they are disciplined they'll acknowledge that they simply aren't a punting proposition at 3's |
|
By:
I agree that 10/3 isn't great value, i prefer Holland at 7/1. But 11/2 is a poorhouse price.

spain without puyol and villa, xavi carrying a knock, and they don't look as cohesive as they did in 2010 germany should be favs THAT IS ALL. |

I suppose they must be feeling confident as they haven't 'Aryanized' as many Poles etc in the last couple of years as they were doing a while ago

david silva is a great player
but spain are worse with him imo infact i wouldn't be surprised if they struggle to make it out of the group ![]() |

Both Klose and Podolski are from Silesia and everyone with a modicum of education knows about the history of this region. |

My advice - Insider:
I am german and i think that spain will be kicked by netherlands in half final. The other half final will be france/italy and germany. I think final will be netherlands against france or germany. One of the biggest cracking bets is Marco Reus topscorer 2012. odds 210 !!! He will play as second striker with Klose. Gomez is done and will not have much playtime - dont bet on him. Reus is a great technical player and shoot many goals this season. he was the shooting star. Chelsea wanted him to sign a contract, bayern munich too, but he signed in Dortmund for next season. He could become the same important player as Müller was - World Cup 2010. Coach Löw thrust in him too. Thats me advices to you. You dont have to bet on it, but i will help you. |

only a couple of spanish players would get into germanys team,(villa and puyol maybe but they are out).
thats why germany will win. the only downside for germany backers,is if that usless lanky streak of piss starts |

Most stupid statement i have ever read on the betfair forum. Xavi/Iniesta would make and team. Both would be in a world eleven you muppet. |
