Hi guys,

I just watched celta vigo vs cordoba match, and have never seen anything like it in my life. 1/10 on 0-0, 500/1 on 0-1 after 15 mins.

Surely Betfair would not just let this pass? There was obvious collusion between both sides, as the ball didn't leave the halfway line, and there were no shots on/off target in the entire game.

Question is this, has anybody attempted to complain about this kind of thing before to betfair? If so, what was the result?

It is bad practice to accept bets on matches which are clearly not being played in a fair manner.

I didnt have much money on the game but I just think it needs investigating further, as it is not fair to the general betting public.

Any suggestions/ideas?

I doubt you will get your money back, but I do think the game needs to be seriously investigated.

I watched the entire game and was truly shocked. They didn't even try to hide what they were doing, 100% blatent collusion

doesn't this sort of thing happen on a regular basis when aston villa play?

maybe they should be investigated too.

that was a Spanish  2nd division match, you expect blatant fixing like that from any of the Spanish leagues

I think the OP is being extremely naive here.

A draw meant Celta Vigo clinched promotion and Cordoba clinched a play-off place. Why on earth would either side risk anything in this match?

What is there to investigate and what did you expect - all out attack from both sides desperate to get the win that neither side needed.

This is light years away from the alleged fixes that go on throughout the season in some leagues in Europe.

still a fix and if the people backing can be proven to be  connected to the teams its a crime imo . but yes other less subtle fixes pass under the radar every day .

There's a big difference between a fix, and and both teams knowing that a draw will suit them both. As Andy says, there is nothing to investigate. This game was not a fix. There was no need for anyone on either team to fix it.

Substitute Spanish for Italian in Liam Brady's quote below. The bottom line is that before betting on games, you need to be aware of any special situations such as these. Late season games, cup matches, second legs, third round of group games for example. You always have the option not to bet.

Liam Brady said: "When a draw suits both teams in Italy, the game will end in a draw. It's all to do with the mentality of the Italian people. They see nothing wrong in such an arrangement."

There is nothing wrong in the draw if it suits both, their work during the whole year put them in that position and both of the teams didn't want to risk a little bit in the game. I didn't watch but it was just 90 minutes before both teams celebrated the whole season achievements. If you had researched properly this match, you probably wouldn't have bet anything different from the draw.

Agree with the last few posts.  It's a different mentality, collusion wasn't required as they both understood a draw was in both teams best interests.  The odds fully reflected this outcome as well.
