yes, the shops are called the PMU

The PMU shops are the only places you will get a bet on in France as its all state controlled. The PMU places are called PMU Cafes.

there were a few non pmu bookies but i havnt followed it, so i dont
know how they are getting on


the french tote had a monopoly that was challenged in the european courts
and led to a few opening

betfair is banned in france, but their new fixed odds site might be allowable
subject to them paying the relevant percentages to be given to french sport.
