I see the toggle in the Denamrk and Cyprus U19 game later today. Match odds.
Report YouAreInBits May 23, 2012 2:56 PM BST
Have to be using Beta to see/use the toggle.

lol it's the next generation of betfair... going backwards to standard bookie platform Crazy
Report YouAreInBits May 23, 2012 3:02 PM BST
gonna be good when there's a lack of liquidity in a certain market though when it's all up and running across every market.
Report bingo bongo May 23, 2012 3:09 PM BST
Looks a mess the way its layed out differently. Just looked at 1 match. Only on 1 market (draw no bet) were fixed odds better.

Correct score/half time score looks good for betfair. Market is about 135% with no unquoted offered, don't think most bookies would offer such poor value?

I just don't see how this benefits customers at all. I could understand it on low liquidity markets but there aren't really many on football.

bingo bongo - the fixed odds are there is there to plug a gap really, letting people get bets on when they want if there isn't the liquidity available in the exchange. By its nature, the Exchange does not always offer liquid markets / prices either far in advance of an event or on some in-play markets. So, this will hopefully fill the holes.

are they going to ban winners
Report Daymor May 23, 2012 3:20 PM BST
To fill a gap. What a joker. More like to swell the coffers of Betfair Plc.  135% + overrounds!!!
Report bingo bongo May 23, 2012 3:27 PM BST
I understand that it was never going to offer better odds than the exchange when there is close to 100% book. But where is the lack of liquidity on football. Just looking at a random match in play now (Italy u19s so hardly a big match) and every market - except half time/full time - has good prices on the exchange.

The only markets I can think this may be useful are things like corners/bookings but only corners match bet is in play and even then only on tv matches.

Just looked at some Euro12 matches. Fixed odds markets @ 7.50% !!! Betfair now just another run of the mill bookmaker. What happened to innovation and revolutionising betting. Andrew Back and Edward Wray must be blushing with embarrassment. Shame on you Betfair
Report ShirleyKnot May 23, 2012 3:38 PM BST
To be fair to betfair 7.5% is generous in comparison to that offered by the industry generally.
Report ShirleyKnot May 23, 2012 3:39 PM BST
I have not looked but I assume the fixed odds site is commission and PC free.

I must agree that the "fill a gap" line is somewhat unbelievable. The PR hierarchy over estimate the naivety of their customers.

V C 5%,B E T 365 6.6%, S J 5.27%, B O Y L E  4.79%. So no Betfairs 7.50% is not generous. Betfair no longer looking for "sharp minds."

ty.  They are keener than I thought.
Report hazel May 23, 2012 3:48 PM BST
as for banning winners they have already started.

see the general betting forum where eddie asked for £100 and was told that it exceeded the maximum,  then he went all way down to the minimum stake and still got the message that the stake exceeded the maximum.
