Personally I don't know where that reaction comes from, Chelsea played a team that were (on paper at least) better than them, in their back yard.  How else did anyone expect them to play?

Scenario: England meet Spain in Euro championship finals.

If England were to win the Euro championship playing the way Chelsea did tonight, would you:

A. be delighted, citing Roy Hodgson as a tactical genius, & the players as truly 'world class'

B. be delighted, but deep down feel a little embarrassed about the way we won the trophy, acknowledging that there is much work to do in order to be recognised as a footballing nation to fear,  a la the Spanish

C. not really care how we won,  just be delighted that we won the trophy

Sadly B,i'd sooner see my team try and win the game as opposed to stifling the opposition and winning on penalties
