You obviously have to live in Manchester to find this thread mildly amusing. As a neutral I find the whole thing very boring. All I would say is that Manchester City are nowhere near the stature of a club that United are. Good luck if you ever surpass their success but it will take many, many years.
I just wish that City were still at Maine Road. Spent many happy away days there and now they've just been reduced to yet another billionaires plaything. If you're happy to buy success then all the best with that. |

has there ever been a successful football team that didn't "buy success" ?

I to enjoyed the days of Maine Road. For me it was mainly in the days when United were the team in Manchester spending the money whilst City went up and down leagues and struggled to attract half decent players. You can't seriously be suggesting that any supporter of a club doesn't want them to succeed however that comes about? Unfortunately there was such a huge gap created between the "big four", as it was, and the remainder of clubs that the only way any club will become a success nowadays is via "buying success".
