Hi all,
Was thinking recently that if i could start with £4 on betfair and create it to £400 thought just following the tips of the knowledgable betfair community.
Im going to have this challenge in 2 of the forums Football and Horse Racing.
£4 starting in each forum so at worst i lose £8 which isn't massive.
The aim is to see how knowledgable the betfair community is :)

Best just to pick a 100/1 shot and hope.

I'll let you know if I see any worth doing. Best 100/1 shots are found in football around 85 minutes.

That would defeat the object of seeing if the community is knowledgeable though as any old gran from you local superstore could pick you a 100/1 because there budgey has the same name as the horse. this does not mean she is knowledgable. Just that she is lucky.

holte: Picking 7 out of 7 correct evens shots (going all in each time) involves more luck than picking a single 100/1 shot.

7 evens shots is 1/128 in fair probability. The return after commission? £89 per £1 staked.

Pick a single shot@100? happens 1/100, which is more likely. The return after commission? £95 per £1 staked.

So you've got a bigger return on a more likely set of events.

Correctly picking a 100 shot involves more knowledge than getting lucky by picking 7/7 evens shots, which might look impressive but if you start with a big enough pool of people, then if they pick opposing stuff each time, you can be guaranteed to have someone make it with a pool of more than 128 people.

You wanted the knowledge of the forum, I'm just trying to add some real knowledge, which is that the best way to go from £4-£400 is to do it in a single bet.

If you want to discard my knowledge, then feel free. I'll enjoy the carnage. Devil
