The thing is, ronaldo is just so unlikeable which combined with a willingness to go down at the slightest touch means people will always be more predisposed to messi who plays the game like he enjoys it

Still a very difficult argument...
I'd say Messi is lucky in the sense he has the most consistant set of players in the world around him. They are constantly playing to his strengths and allowing him to flourish Ronalso, proved again last night to expect the unexpected. When the chips are down he is capable of exraordinarily piecs of talent. He, much to people's surprise when he left has evolved as a footballer massively. I thinkt the only way this can be answered is if Messi were to leave Barca and go and try his lucky at City and see what happens there. Although this will never happen for a number of reasons and why would he leave his comfort zone? I'd still take Messi (just) however the gap is closing |

You just have to watch Messi against any top side in the world and see how he plays including v Real Madrid and decide then. Past two seasons that's what Ronaldo struggled with. Should easily be his trophy again and make it 4 in a row

I have never said Ronaldo is not in Messi's league, it's quite obvious to anyone that they're both amazing players and modern day greats. However only one of them gets considered when discussing the greatest of all time, and only one of them keeps winning the world player of the year. It's also worth noting that in this season which is Ronaldo's best ever for goalscoring, he's still a long way behind Messi. And for those who say la liga is sh*te and a stroll in the park, let's compare their CL records. Messi - 51 goals in 66 games Ronaldo - 37 goals in 84 games |

Messi is a player who thrives on being part of a TEAM....a team which is based round him which he contributes to massively.
Ronaldo is not interested in being part of a team...if they win 2-1 but he doesnt score the last minute winner and get the glory and score he isnt happy. If you notice he rarely celebrates if he is not the scorer... However his talent in undeniable |

Take Messi and Ronaldo out both teams and Barca easily still storm the league. Messi is a great player but his support/ teammates are of immense quality, far superior to Real Madrids, Sure Real have Ozil, Kaka etc, but they would be lucky to be subs at Barca. Ronaldo truly is worth 2 players. Messi 1 and a half. |
