Whats the use of having 75% of the possession when 60% is in your own half.
Report f1sh April 6, 2012 4:58 PM BST
The Swansea philosophy, work the ball down to the by line, and then work it all the way back to your centre half, ****ing marvellous.

He was talking about Krul the dutchman who made the save.

So much wrong with that first half.
Report no rain April 6, 2012 5:20 PM BST
All that passing back to their goalie must really suck them dry of energy.

Passing and possession is all fine and good, but rather pointless if most of it in your half. The number of passes between the back 4, supported occassionally by a midfielder just inside their own half - without actually making Newcastle work.

On the positive side, with technically gifted world class players, Swansea might just turn into Barcelona Excited

Report no rain April 6, 2012 5:46 PM BST
Newcastle could easily go 2-0 up here, but mentally are stuck in defend mode. Plenty of space for Ba and Cisse to exploit.

Swansea back to passing along halfway line, very good chance this could end up 0-1 or 0-2 ..

Absolutely no goalmouth threat from either team at the moment.

Even the likes of Pele and Maradona would have been chuffed to have scored that 2nd goal.
Report no rain April 6, 2012 6:13 PM BST
They're tired and don't really have a plan B. Newcastle, are pushing up the pitch not leaving them much space in the middle. It's even tough for them to pass back to their Goalie !
Report Dr.Cypionate April 6, 2012 6:15 PM BST
tired?? newcastle must be destroyed then going by the possession theory that follows the likes of barca around !
Report no rain April 6, 2012 6:16 PM BST
Have to admire their fans though. Sitting in the stands watching the ball go back so much for 90 minutes, but still sticking by them.
Report lucas87 April 6, 2012 6:16 PM BST
cisse is the banging new striker for the premier league, betted on them a few times recently and he getting them all important goals, im his biggest fan haha, thought about him as 1st goalscorer never looked thou what odds was he guys?
Report no rain April 6, 2012 6:17 PM BST
Difference is, Newcastle didn't actually need to expend energy defending. There's been no threat at all. It's like 11 spectators on the pitch watching the ball being passed around 30 yards away.
Report lukekelly88 April 6, 2012 6:17 PM BST
11/2 i think i saw on Paddy P earlier

Swansea are a decent team so it's good result for Newcastle.
Report Dan Chipowski April 6, 2012 6:21 PM BST
90 mins on the clock, two down and still stroking it around the back. Plain
Report lukatore April 6, 2012 6:26 PM BST
wtf is wrong with swansea?!
they looked like they were holding 2 goal lead...
Report no rain April 6, 2012 6:26 PM BST
It's all fine thinking about the Barcelona style of play but the point is to find an opening by passing the ball around.

Not simply passing it around in your own half for 90 minutes and think you've achieved something. If Brendan Rogers doesn't improvise on his methods to get results, Swansea could soon find their way back to the championship.

EPL managers will come up with a method to unsettle them next year as demonstrated by Newcastle today. Nick a goal and sit back, enjoy the cocktails and watch the sunset. You might even a see a ball moving around in the distance Laugh
