Use your brain, find your own niche, decrease risk, have a lot of discipline... blah blah, we all heard it before, and I agree.

You can show a gambler how to make small steady profits, but hey, that will not be enough.
Most gamblers are looking for that BIG win that rarely comes in.

I trade and make a steady profit everyday.

How?

If you are one of the guys who make $400 or more per day (not that I know of many), this is not for you.

It may sound little, but slow and steady is the way forward in here.

Here is the bit that my gamblers friends doesn't like:  I "only" make 0.1% of my stake per trade.

Most people doesn't even bother with that kind of profits, but when you are trading with $500 to $1000 stake (like I do), it really adds up. Trading with this stakes doesn't mean you are risking your entire stake, with my trading system I never risk more than 0.4%. Less stress, less risk, and the bank grows everyday.

You don't need a big bank to trade the way I do it, however you need a huge amount of discipline both to enter and exit the trade, this is where most traders fail.

Risking between 0.2% and 0.4% of my stake per trade I managed to increase my bank by 4.29% in the last 10 days, trading 87 markets, that's only 9 markets per day, I could be winning much more if I concentrated full time and with more infraestructure.

Not that $500 is 0.4% of my bank.
What I meant is that I trade with $500 and sometimes $1000, depending on several factors, but if the trade goes against me, then I exit with a maximum lost between 0.2% and 0.4% of my stake. Have a look at the P&L I posted.

Report Trader11 March 7, 2012 6:23 PM GMT
Hi smithy, nice to see you around. I did not give up the laying strategy, indeed it is still going VERY well. I only stopped posting the thread on general betting because it became pointless to be talking to myself on the thread, nobody was interested lately, even with the profits I was getting.

Bricks,
I try to watch the games on TV if possible, this will help me decide if it is the right game and moment to do it or not. But actually I watch very few of the matches I trade, 1 in 5 I would say.
I don't have a set amount of time for the trade, on average it takes 2:30 mins, the fastest being 10 secs and the slowest being 5 mins.
I don't enter a trade and wait certain amount of time to get out, I get both of my bets matched and out.
Only when I trade pre match I hope the market will go in the right direction, but when it is in play I know it will go the way I want, unless something happens, and then I will lose 0.2% to 0.4% of my stake.

Godsend,
That would be good, do not know how to do it and don't think it would work. There are factors that can't be handled by a software. All I need is time and better infraestructure to improve my winnings.
Report smithy91 March 7, 2012 6:29 PM GMT

Fair enough, due respect to your way of gambling, but yes, we are probably from different planets.

I don't do this for fun, it is not fun indeed. I do it to make money, and trading is safer than gambling. Give me that safety net, I take it.
Look what I did in the England v Netherlands match, traded the over 4.5 and didn't think about that madness in the last 5 minutes, so what I did was to put all the profits in the under 4.5 and zero on the over. You know the rest. Didn't make any money, but at least didn't lose a chunk like many did during the craziness.

Ok, FFS, mixed up bank % and stake %.
Screwed it up on excel, sorry.

The origin of the mistake is that I have a very slow plan to grow my bank, that is 0.2% of bank per day as weekly average.
Most days I do more than that, I consider it a bonus.

Let me fix that little mess:

Most of the time I trade with $500 as a stake.

If the trade is successful I win 1% of my STAKE, if it goes wrong then I lose between $9 and $20, which is 2% to 4% of STAKE. Or in other words 0.1% to 0.2% of BANK.

Therefore, for those who messaged me and confuse "stake" and "bank", I only risk between 0.1% and 0.2% of BANK per trade.
It is a tiny liability if you think about it.
Every trade taking an average of 2:30 minutes, I managed to increase my BANK by 4.29% in the last 10 days by risking a very small part of my bank.

Protect your bank and take whatever winnings you can take. That is the part that gamblers doesn't like, but traders should follow.

I will ammend part of the opening post:

I "only" make 1% of my stake per trade.

Most people doesn't even bother with that kind of profits, but when you are trading with $500 to $1000 stake (like I do), it really adds up. Trading with this stakes doesn't mean you are risking your entire stake, with my trading system I never risk more than 4% of stake. Less stress, less risk, and the bank grows everyday.

Risking between 2% and 4% of my STAKE (or 0.1% and 0.2% of BANK) per trade I managed to increase my BANK by 4.29% in the last 10 days.
