dimebar you done your bank on west ham? Sad

Not my own bank but this projects bank yeah... basically i had my heart set on the bayern game with my price @ 1.35 and that was the only game i was going on until the evening.
I wanted my bet to be matched, watch the game until i was happy to leave it, then come off and get some sleep. I set my bet to be matched @ 1.35, they scored the 1st goal @ 1.32 or 1.33 very early in the game so i missed it.

I then went against everything i've learnt over the years and done exactly what you're not supposed to do. I threw discipline out the window n went and risked on 2 games i wouldn't have even bothered giving a look at all because i missed my 1st choice selection.

There was a few factors to why... I'd been up all night so i was very tired and un-focused, i was too set in my mind on hitting the profit target from the bayern game before i come off that i just looked for a quick bet which was the worst possible thing to do.
I even said i'd blacklisted west ham because of them being so ropey lately but i still went and put the whole remains on them because they scored a goal so early I then come off and went to sleep without even watching or monitoring the game expecting to wake up to see 2-0 3-0 or just any west ham win result.

All i'm saying here is this way of betting and type of bets isn't the reason it failed it was just 2 poor bets, selections and stakes by me.
It is a good way to build up a bank and if i'd just taken bayern munich at start price or got matched at my price i set by bayern holding out literally another 2 or 3 minutes before they scored the first goal everything would be in order and the bank would be at it's highest level.
I should have come off n went to bed after i missed out on the bayern game but I didn't and then stupidly tied up the whole of the remaining bank on 2 very bad choices.

In a way though, all that aside... i'm quite relieved it's over because it was starting to consume so much of my time and thoughts just constantly monitoring all the games looking for opportunities and having to keep posting this thread all day every day... it's like a burden's been lifted as I was doing and monitoring my own personal bets alongside this pretty much constantly.
And apart from the last 2 bets of the thread it shows how if you don't do the stupid, you can actually build a bank fairly nicely from a small start and also shows what happens when you do the stupid. It also beautifully illustrates that discipline is one of, if not, the most important factor in betting for long term profit and stability.

Sorry to the followers for disappointing you all... thread deceased.

gOOD THREAD AND EVERYONE HAS BEEN DOWN THE 'LOST DISCIPLINE ROAD' before.

Try again and learn for the exprience, you just can't win every day and you're going to miss selections - and take some days OFF FROM GAMBLING EVERY NOW AND THEN, just say ok Friday, i'm not even loading up Betfair. i'm going down the pub/playing tennis/go for a walk/take the little woman out etc

Dam dimebar, sorry to hear you went bust mate.  You did really well on here.  Was just looking for this thread to post up my St Gallen back at 1.15 when 0-1 (now 0-2).  Massive shame as this thread was truly golden but it has to happen eventually.
I found the main problem backing teams 1-0 up is you have it in your mind and don't pay attention to the game (the United game against Bilbao was a good example - Bilbao destroying United but they went 1-0 up and I still backed United) and I realised it was a bad bet afterwards and took the weekend off.
Good effort though dime - being at 6 times your starting stake is no easy feat.  I would be tempted to continue this thread but it's a lot of time and effort to post all your bets up so I will continue to do so casually - only the solid picks will go on here.
Good luck all.

Dimebar have just looged on to the forum looking for tonights opinions and am sad to see what happened. We have all been there. I liked this thread as there was a lack of ego combined with good solid reasoning as to why chose your bets. I guess we have the usual (1 goal challenge 0-10k)threads to look forward to now.Great!

guys calm down i'm not bust... just busted the little bank i put in for this thread so can't continue it as it went to zero Tongue Out the thread is alot of effort though. Was thinking of just doing another easy 1, £600 per month by winning just £20 per day in around 2 to 4 bets, less hassle n less time needed.

lol i will start a new one sometime tomorrow, will start nice n low again... just aim for a few simple £5 profit bets per day to start get to £600 and work it up instead of taking on so many per day, go for quality not quantity Devil

and thanks for the nice words guys Love it's good to see a positive crowd instead of all the ego-driven bullcrap as you know this isn't about being a good tipster or status or any of that bullcrap.
It's purely about making some money and growing a balance... get those extra funds to pay bills, have a bit more in your pocket, after a couple months even have enough to treat yourself to a nice deserved holiday. Definately won't be stupid on the next one and we shall prevail, this is SPARTAAAAAAAA Laugh sorry felt like i had to finish with something inspiring Cool

To the op : what edge dó you have?

It just shows how you Can build a small bank gambling. Then you start to Think, wow i have an edge.

Then bang! And you get Found out.

Hope This helps more than the other posters.

Firstly it's not a sudden "wow, i have an edge" and there was no "bang! i've been found out" i've been gambling years and done all the "systems" you can think of... this wasn't something i needed to do for me i went past the building of the bank stage a long time ago after failing plenty of times over the years i'm just showing how you can get up from a small start.
And the only reason it didn't carry on was because i went against what i was doing for the previous 16 days and went all in on something i even considered a bad bet and that's it, my fault, if it were my own bank and thats all i had i wouldn't have placed the all in bet but because the £50 investment i started this with was only 1.11% of my bank and it was taking over my routine n interfering with my concentration for my own bets i just went for it without caring too much if the all in come in or not, it's not an ego or pride thing for me.
I could have easily carried on if i really wanted it to carry on, i'm not being egotistical there either and no it wasn't more helpful really because i've been down all the roads before but you just clearly stated in your comment what the whole point of the thread was and what it did... show how to build the bank.  And the "edge" these type of bets have over other bets is that almost all the bets are in a winning position with the favourable team/outcome possibility of success high in our favour.

Your post would be helpful to someone new to all this, don't mean to sound condescending at all either but seems you made a few assumptions with your reply as if I'd just found some new thing i've been making regular profits doing these, alongside other bets, for a fair while.

Firstly , bad luck

Secondly Can I recommend 2 things in your next bank build thread?

1- you never full bank it
2 -at certain times you withdraw some profit .

This teaches your followers 2 important rules that they need to be successful.

Even If everyone had withdrawn £50 during this before it went bust your followers would actually have has some money from it whatever happens.

Anyway just trying to be helpful and good luck with your next one .

Excellent thread.

The way it ended is probably the most important lesson it can teach people.
